Here are five All-State liberos to watch.
Eleanor Beavin Eleanor Beavin DS/L Mercy | 2021 State KY : The KVCA Defensive Player of the Year, Beavin is a 5-5 senior libero from perennial state title contender Mercy Academy. A First Team All-State honoree, Beavin has logged 405 digs and 54 digs through her first 17 matches in the 2020 season. Beavin, who was named the KVCA Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight time, thrives in the back row as the state’s top player at her position.
Kelsey Brangers Kelsey Brangers DS/L Central Hardin | 2021 State KY : A First Team All-State honoree, Brangers is a 5-3 libero from Central Hardin. Brangers recorded 477 digs, 100 assists and 58 service aces in 25 matches during the 2020 high school volleyball season. Highly productive, Brangers possesses solid passing and defensive skills.
Caroline Cole Caroline Cole DS/L Dunbar | 2021 State KY : Another experienced player, Cole is a 5-6 senior libero from Paul Laurence Dunbar. Also a First Team All-State honoree, Cole posted 373 digs and 69 assists in 21 matches during the 2020 high school volleyball season. A solid passer, Cole uses athleticism to make digs routinely.
Katie Floyd Katie Floyd S Taylor County | 2022 State KY : A 5-3 junior libero from Taylor County, Floyd is a Second Team All-State selection. Floyd registered 491 digs and 54 assists in 18 matches during her junior season. One of the state’s most underrated high school volleyball players, Floyd is a proven defensive defensive standout.
Jenny Wessling Jenny Wessling DS/L Assumption | 2021 State KY : A 5-7 senior libero from reigning state champion Assumption, Wessling was named Second Team All-State. Through 13 matches, Wessling has recorded 167 kills and 35 assists for the Rockets. A solid all-around player with the ability to thrive defensively, Wessling leads regularly.
