Leslie Snow Leslie Snow 5'9" | OH BOLD | 2022 State MN (2022 – BOLD) – The junior, outside hitter had a fantastic year. Her team relied heavily on her hitting and see why. The variety of hits in her repertoire makes it so difficult to defend. Of course, our favorite is her sharp cut shot that is too deep for the left front to get, and out of reach of left back. Snow is great at reading the defense and catching them on their heels with a roll, off speed or line hit. This year she had several game with 10+ kills; her season high was 19 kills over Minnewaska.
Sienna Ifill Sienna Ifill 6'1" | RS Eagan | 2022 State #83 Nation MN (2022 – Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”]) – It can be a challenge to as talented as Eagan ‘ last=”]’ last=”] proved they are back in 2019 and know you won’t have a state tournament. Ifill still gave an all-state worthy performance at their final game of the season against Lakeville North. Her team may have lost, but she, along with teammates, have already proven their elite level of competition. Siena finished the night with 12 kills.
Brenna Essig (2021 – Triton) – The game almost didn’t happen and the head coach was noticeably absent, but Essig knew what needed to be done. They faced off with a smaller 1A school, and the 5’8” senior took over. They literally used her everywhere. Including a unique offense where she is one of three rotating setters. Essig set the tone for the match with her hard side-spin/top-pin combo. She ended the night with 4 aces, 7 kills, 4 assists, 4 digs and one ace block.
Sadie Voss Sadie Voss 5'10" | OH Jackson CC | 2022 State MN cover photo (2022 – JCC) – The junior started the year on the soccer field but was able to finish the fall season dominating the volleyball court. She ended the season on the Nov. 19th with 13 kills, 20 digs, and 100% serving. This performance from Voss gave the win over Luverne who they lost to a few days before. She is truly a player that makes things happen. Her athletic ability, strength and determination help keep JCC in close matches all season.
Sydney Taylor (2021 – Lanesboro) – The only true right-side on the list. Taylor is a powerful player who uses her strength to our hustle opponents. At 5’9” she is a great blocker whether they use her on the right or even middle. She transitions quickly and likes cutting the ball or swinging down line. She rarely gets blocked because of her high contact point, fast swing, and left-handed approach. Taylor has been instrumental in putting the Lanesboro program back among the top teams in the Southeast conference. She ends her high school career with 9 kills, 11 digs, and 5 ace serves.
