Here is a look at senior athletes from the 1A Ranks that filled up the box scores in 2020 and are hoping to receive college offers for 2021.
OH, Megan Brockmeier 5’7”, Rural Vista – Brockmeier already has a college offer and made a verbal commitment. Bethel University is expecting to get a solid talent off the Heat roster. Brockmeier has verbally committed to play for the Threshers in 2021. She has a big vertical and hits the ball with authority. Brockmeier led Rural Vista with 353 kills in 2020.
OH, Regan Osterhaus, 6’1”, Wetmore –Osterhaus was among the state leaders for kills in Class 1A. She led the Cardinals with 348 kills. She is a quality two-row player who also finished with more than 200 digs.
OH, Raini Hrabe, 5’9”, Thunder Ridge – The Thunder Ridge Longhorns got solid senior leadership and production from Hrabe. The senior outside hitter finished the season with 369 kills. Much like Osterhaus she very rarely leaves the court as she also amassed 248 digs in 2020.
MH, Aubrey Eilers, 5’7”, Udall – Eilers is not one of the taller players in Class 1A, but she is one of 1A’s best blockers. She finished the season with 92 blocks to ranks among the state leaders in 1A and the highest number of blocks for a senior in that division.
MH, Faith Beikman, 6’0”, Linn – Beikman is a tall senior standing at 6’0” and with a long reach to boot. She finished her senior season with 79 blocks and 186 kills. She is a raw talent worthy of a look by JUCO recruiters.
S, Payton Meyer, 5’4”, St. John – St. John finished third at the Kansas Class 1A Division I State Tournament. A large part of the successful season could be attributed to the Tigers’ setter Meyer. Meyer finished the season with 617 assists ranking her among the 1A leaders. She is an excellent communicator and has sure hands.
S, Emma Johnson, 5’9”, St. Francis – Johnson is an all-around stat monster. She finished the 2020 season with 457 assists, 202 kills, 196 digs, and 69 aces.
L, Hattie Fisher, 5’5”, Olpe – Fisher a senior libero finished the season as the dig leader for the Olpe Eagles. She is a solid defensive player who amassed 413 digs and 379 serve receptions in 2020. She has quick feet and started many scoring rallies for the Eagles.
L, Jaci Howell, 5’4”, Attica – Howell is proof that dynamite comes in small packages. The 5’4” senior libero helped guide Attica to a State Runner-Up finish in Class 1A DII. She finished the season with 386 digs. She also tallied 35 kills and 40 aces.
