Advance 35-1-2 State Champions
Alandry Below, Junior
Silky smooth setter and can do everything on the court well. Spread out 50 assists in the 3-1 championship win over Lesterville and picked up 13 digs. In the semifinal sweep of New Haven, she would collect 26 assists and 12 digs. Look for this junior setter to be the significant Advance player, looking for a fourth straight state championship next year. Don’t be shocked to see them playing for the title.
Alyssa Miles Alyssa Miles OH Advance | 2021 State MO , Senior
Semifinal victory over New Haven, the hammer on the outside would get ten kills, one error on 20 attempts for .400% hitting. Over Lesterville, the hammer would put down 15 kills in the championship, one error on 38 attempts for .368%. Put down the 31 digs for her, and Alyssa is a tremendous player for this Class 1 power. One of my favorite hitters to watch because she came in like a freight train every time.
Meadow Morse, Senior
Here’s another outside hitter that had a great weekend with ten kills and eight digs in the semifinals. Then added 13 kills and eight digs in the championship.
Nyah Wilson Nyah Wilson 5'10" | RS Advance | 2021 State MO , Senior
A six rotation middle for the Hornets is all over the court, passing, hitting, blocking, and playing defense. Rare for the middle to pass and play defense, but Nyah Wilson Nyah Wilson 5'10" | RS Advance | 2021 State MO does it better than most libero’s. In the finals, she would hit .488% with 23 kills, three errors on 41 attempts, and get 17 digs and two blocks. In the semifinal win over New Haven, she would hit .588% with 12 kills, two errors on 17 attempts and 15 digs, and three blocks.
MVP
Advance Senior Class
Since they walked onto the court three years ago, all they’ve done is win three state championships. The seniors would hit .408% with 94 kills for the state tournament with 16 errors on 191 attempts. They would win four district championships for their high school career, lost to Valle Catholic 21-25, 19-25 in sectionals their freshman year. Would go 132-12-4 the four years and 105-5-3 the last three while winning those three straight championships. Probably the best senior class ever in Class 1.
