Continue ReadingThe 2021 club season is approaching. We’re not quite back to “Normal”, but we are for the most part back in the gym, athletes are able to be around their teammates and friends, and get back to doing what they love. Normal? Not quite, but at the end of the day, they get to be together, they have found a way to make it work. For some of these athletes, they haven’t been able to play in an event since last March. It’s time! Here are some athletes in the Class of 2021 and Class of 2022 that are must watch athletes who will be sure to turn some heads at the Quad Cities Clash.
Aida Shadewald Aida Shadewald 5'11" | OH Sauk Prairie | 2022 State #184 Nation WI from @SportsSauk is on 🔥@PrepDigChris @PrepDigWI pic.twitter.com/NzWcejLdxp

Aida Shadewald Aida Shadewald 5'11" | OH Sauk Prairie | 2022 State #184 Nation WI – Sting United 17 Red
Class of 2022 – Outside Hitter
Shadewald busted onto the scene last year, but with covid was unable to have a full 16s season. A physical attacker on the pin and six rotation outside, she is going to be high on the radar for plenty of college coaches. She was key in leading her team to the state tournament while earning All State honors.
Abby Savatski Abby Savatski 6'1" | MB Mukwonago | 2022 State WI – RVA 17 Navy
Class of 2022 – Middle Blocker
Super dynamic, Savatski is a major presence at the net with the ability to run a variety of tempos as well as putting up quite a block. RVA is Revolution Volleyball Academy out of the Waukesha, WI area outside of Milwaukee and will be bringing a batch of teams who are always competitive throughout the Badger Region. This 17s squad is athletic and has a front line who will be very physical at the net.
Ally Barth Ally Barth 6'0" | MB Edgewood | 2022 State WI – Balance 17s
Class of 2022 – Middle Blocker
So fast, and extremely dangerous off of one foot. Barth is another dynamic middle where she’s a multisport athlete who has evolved into an elite athlete the past year. She is active along the net and is one of those fast twitch middles who can be really quick with her arm swing and score plenty of points. She can also get from pin to pin extremely quick too. She was a key piece of Edgewood Catholic out of Madison who advanced to the Wisconsin state tournament.
Lot of athletes on this @iowapowervb 16 Black team. Madison Geise Madison Geise 6'0" | S Roland-Story | 2022 State IA 2022 setter/right side is the real deal. pic.twitter.com/DVn5YGpBIS

Madison Geise Madison Geise 6'0" | S Roland-Story | 2022 State IA – IPVA 17 Black
Class of 2022 – Setter
Geise can do it all. She is a top athlete coming out of Central Iowa where she is another multi-sport kid and can also play multiple positions whether she’s setter or swinging on the right side. Setting is where she will most likely land at the next level, but with her all around ability, she is the type of athlete you need on your side of the net at the next level.
Anna Bohrer Anna Bohrer 6'0" | DS/L Verona | 2021 State WI of Verona has been one of the best setters in the PDFL. 2021 major sleeper! pic.twitter.com/Yt4zOBSH77

Anna Bohrer Anna Bohrer 6'0" | DS/L Verona | 2021 State WI – Sting United 18 Red
Class of 2021 – Setter
I’ve talked with plenty of coaches who have said, “I need a Class of 2021 Setter”. Here is an obvious one. Bohrer was one of the top players in the Prep Dig Fall League which consisted of high schools in Wisconsin who did not get a chance to have a high school season. At 6’0, long, strong, and physical Bohrer can do so many positive things for her team. She would be a huge addition to plenty of teams next year.
Lexi Stephens Lexi Stephens 5'4" | DS/L Ankeny | 2022 State IA – IPVA 17 Black
Class of 2022 – Libero
State Champion…check. Stephens was the starting libero for Ankeny who won the Class 5A state title (Iowa’s large school class). She was also a standout at the Prep Dig Top 250 in Nebraska. Besides solid platform awareness and anticipation, she has great body language and a presence on the court. Something her teammates can rally around!
Abbi Martin Abbi Martin 6'1" | MB Mosinee | 2022 State WI – Wisconsin Ice 18 National
Class of 2022 – Middle Blocker
MAJOR hidden gem that is rising, rising, and rising even more. She has improved immensely and is becoming a scoring threat to add to her already major presence in the middle as a blocker. She plays for a successful high school squad in Mosinee HS in North Central Wisconsin and is bound to have a big breakout season for club.
Another sneaky good small school team is Pacelli with top Libero Kylie Struble Kylie Struble 5'6" | DS/L Pacelli | 2022 State WI with the second ball. pic.twitter.com/NCWOgJ8E24
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) August 27, 2020
Kylie Struble Kylie Struble 5'6" | DS/L Pacelli | 2022 State WI – Wisconsin Ice 18 National
Class of 2022 – Libero
Struble has made a name for herself in being one of the top liberos in the Class of 2022 in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Ice 18 National Team is combined of 17s and 18s around the Wausau area stretching into Northern Wisconsin. Dorci Walker Dorci Walker OH Columbus Catholic | 2022 State WI is another big time attacker who will be on the squad and will be highly competitive in the Badger Region.
Andrea Bortulin Andrea Bortulin 5'4" | S Luther Prep | 2022 State WI – Sting United 17 Red
Class of 2022 – Setter
Super Gritty! I was able to watch Bortulin plenty this summer at a variety of camps and tournaments and she always competes and does so many positive things for her team. She can set, defend, and even at 5’4 had no fear going up against a big block to swing. She’s got the positive intangibles in her favor and can be utilized in a variety of ways for her team.
Maddy Fortune Maddy Fortune 5'8" | S McFarland | 2022 State WI – Balance 17s
Class of 2022 – Setter
Fortune is hungry and eager to get on the court. Her high school, McFarland right outside of Madison, WI did not have a high school season which was coming off a state runner up appearance. She’s so scrappy and has a high motor where she can get her hands to the ball and run a quick tempo offense. A lot of the athletes from Balance as well as the Sting United squads out of the Madison area were without high school volleyball and this will be a special chance for them to get on the court!
Peyton Como Peyton Como 5'4" | DS/L Wauwatosa West | 2022 State WI – RVA 17 Navy
Class of 2022 – Libero
Como will be one of the top first contacts for RVA where she is a scrappy libero who can cover plenty of range out of the backrow. RVA has been improving each year among the programs in the Badger Region and this year should be huge for them across all groups. With athletes like Como, who set the tone, they will be fun to compete against some competitive programs at the Clash from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Over 40 teams signed up in the past 48 hours! It’s going to be quite the “Clash” you can “Bett” on! @TBKBANKSPORTS pic.twitter.com/eyZM8daYyd
