Prep Dig Kansas is happy to provide some holiday stocking stuffers with the release of its initial player rankings for the Class of 2024.
It is understandable that this list could see major changes before this class graduates, but the 50 student-athletes that made the list contributed to their respective school’s varsity squads.
Here is a look at five of the best defensive players ranked in the Top 50 in the Kansas Class of 2024.
L, Grace HettGraceHett5'5" | LMarion | 2024StateKS, 5’5”, Marion (’24 Ranked No. 21) – Hett had a huge defensive season for Marion. She finished the season with 474 digs. She could play Libero for multiple levels of college teams.
DS, Emmy SherEmmySher5'8" | DSOlathe Northwest | 2024StateKS, 5’8”, Olathe Northwest (’24 Ranked No. 25) – Sher plays for a super talented Olathe Northwest team. She finished the 2020 high school season with 234 digs. She projects to be a Division II talent.
L, Addy FosterAddyFoster5'5" | LDerby | 2024StateKS, 5’5”, Derby (’24 Ranked No. 26) – The Derby Panthers were unable to reach the state finals, however, freshman libero Addy FosterAddyFoster5'5" | LDerby | 2024StateKS will have three years to try to accomplish that goal. Foster led Derby in digs with 316 digs. She

Jilian HuckabeyJilianHuckabey5'11" | OHOlathe Northwest | 2024StateKS, 5’11”, Olathe Northwest (’24 Ranked No. 6) – Huckabey is an offensive threat and a defensive stalwart. She finished with 306 digs, but also led this list with 291 kills. She will be a DI talent. The question will be what position will she play, as she can also set.
