Bennington: Ranked #11 ia 5’7” Libero Olivia Mauch Olivia Mauch 5'7" | DS/L Bennington | 2024 State #49 Nation NE . Mauch as a freshman last year played really steady in the back row and was a digging machine. She tallied 450 digs and chipped in 39 ace serves. She is low error on serve receive as well. She registered only 13 errors out of 458 receptions this past fall. Teams tried to serve away from her this past fall and definitely has a high ceiling! Keep this Badger on your radar!
Elkhorn North: Overall this is a program on the rise and on the rise quickly! Ranked #20 is 5’7” Setter Reese Booth Reese Booth 5'7" | S Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE . Booth has such a high volleyball IQ on the court and you can tell she has been around a lot of volleyball. Booth can do a little bit of everything, as she had 713 set assists, 226 digs, 49 ace serves and 53 kills for the young Timberwolves squad this season. Reese is very fun to watch and so mature at the position. Ranked #21 is Libero/Setter Haylee Wolf Haylee Wolf 5'7" | DS/L Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE , who had 386 digs and 59 set assists this past fall and her counterpart in the back row coming in ranked at #22 is Courney Christo who finished the season with 163 digs as a DS this past year. Ball handling will be a strength for the Timberwolves next fall!
Norris: The Class B State Runner-Up Titans has some young talent on the floor in defensive and serving positions. Ranked #14 is 5’5” defensive specialist Alivia Haussman. Haussman has a great jump float serve and tallied 45 ace serves for the Titans this past season. She also had 160 digs and 16 set assists playing right back defense.
Coach Christina Boesiger had this to say about her Haussman: Alivia was a great addition to our varsity team this year. She is a setter on her club team (Premier 15 gold), so she ran the scout side of our offense half of the time and then played as a DS on the starting side. Alivia is a very athletic volleyball player. She transitioned well to her new role as a defensive player, and had a fantastic serve.
Ranked #29 is 5’1” defensive specialist Sydney Guthard. Sydney had 132 digs for the Titans this year. Her and Hausmann both played all 95 sets for the Titans this past fall, so they will have a ton of experience coming into the 2021 season.
Coach Christina Boesiger has this to say about Guthard:
Sydney Guthard had a great start to her high school career at Norris as a DS. We saw huge growth in her passing and her consistency. She is very quick and is never afraid to make a move on the ball. Both Alivia and Syd were able to train under Molly, a 4 year starting libero for us.
Watch list player 6’3” MB Celia Spilker Celia Spilker 6'5" | OH Norris | 2024 State NE has long levers and a very high ceiling. She got in on some action during the season and I witnessed her first varsity kill. She will be very fun to watch as she grows into the position. She got to train behind some of Class B’s best middles!
Coach Christina Boesiger has this to say about Spilker:
Celia Spilker Celia Spilker 6'5" | OH Norris | 2024 State NE had a huge growing year at Norris. She was a starting middle blocker on our jv team, but trained with our varsity team every day. She was able to train with Kalli Kroeker and Brianna Stai Brianna Stai 5'11" | MB Norris | 2021 State NE , and offensively hit off Maisie at a fast tempo. Celia has a high ceiling with being 6’3, and a tremendous work ethic. It will be exciting to watch her grow at Norris.
Among the other talented upperclassmen in the EMC it should be a fun and exciting year in the Eastern Midlands Conference in 2021!
