Class of 2024: Top Five

Prep Dig Kansas is happy to provide some holiday stocking stuffers with the release of its initial player rankings for the Class of 2024.
It is understandable that this list could see major changes before this class graduates, but the 50 student-athletes that made the list contributed to their respective school’s varsity squads.
Each will look to improve their skills in 2021 whether they play club ball or not.
Here is a look at the highest five ranked players from the Kansas Class of 2024.
OH, Skyler Pierce Skyler Pierce 6'3" | OH Olathe Northwest | 2024 State #4 Nation KS , 6’1”, Olathe Northwest (’24 Ranked No. 1) – Pierce is a phenomenal athlete. Imagine if the Williams Sisters played volleyball, Pierce could grow into that type of athlete. She finished the 2020 high school season with 384 kills and 218 digs.
S, Ava Martin Ava Martin 5'10" | S Bishop Miege | 2024 State #77 Nation KS , 5’10”, Bishop Miege (’24 Ranked No. 2) – Bishop Miege qualified for the Class 4A state tournament and the Stag offense was led by freshman setter Martin. She is a Division I recruit and will look to help the Stags qualify for the state tournament in 2021.
MH, Julia Headley Julia Headley 6'2" | MB St. James | 2024 State #103 Nation KS , 6’2”, Olathe Northwest (’24 Ranked No. 3) – Headley had 211 kills in the 2020 high school season and that was good for just third on her own team. The Owls freshman had a solid start to her high school career and will play club ball with the KC Power.
MH, Tatum Grimes Tatum Grimes 6'2" | MB St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State #184 Nation KS , 6’1”, St. Thomas Aquinas (’24 Ranked No. 4)– Grimes arguably is the top blocker in the Class of 2024. She finished the 2020 high school season with 66 blocks, which put her amongst state leaders. She will be a top talent to watch in Kansas for years to come.
OH, Rachel Van Gorp Rachel Van Gorp 5'9" | OH Heritage Christian | 2024 State #94 Nation KS , 5’8”, Heritage Christian Academy (’24 Ranked No. 5) – Van Gorp plays for a small school but has a huge future. She is one of 15 Kansas players to record more than 400 kills in 2020. She finished with 444.
