There are plenty of players ranked in the Top 10 who can finish off a rally with a kill.
Here is a scouting report on five players outside the Top 10 who are also heavy hitters.
OH, Emilee Lane Emilee Lane 6'1" | OH Hays-TMP | 2022 State KS , 6’1”, Hays-TMP (Ranked No. 25) – Lane plays out west, but she deserves the same kind of attention as a player in Kansas City or Wichita metro areas. The Monarch junior finished with 469 kills in 2020. She has an explosive swing but also plays solid defense as she amassed 295 digs as well.
MH, Katy Hurd Katy Hurd 6'1" | MB Perry-Lecompton | 2022 State KS , 6’1”, Perry-Lecompton (Ranked No. 27) – Hurd is a blocking beast, but she can also finish off rallies with big hits. The Kaw middle hitter finished the 2020 season with 304 kills to go along with her 184 blocks.
S, Katy Harris Katy Harris 6'0" | S Atchison | 2022 State KS , 5’6”, Atchison (Ranked No. 59) – Harris is listed as a setter, but she can finish off plays. She knows how to fill up a stat sheet. She finished her junior season with 385 kills, 236 assists and 181 digs. She is a talented college prospect. The question is what position will teams want her to play.
OH, Livia Schultz Livia Schultz 5'10" | OH Wheatland-Grinnell | 2022 State KS , 5’10”, Wheatland-Grinnell (Ranked No. 88) – Schultz is an athlete who should be on scout’s radars. She is a two-way player for Wheatland-Grinnell. She finished her 2020 high school season with 356 kills and 357 digs.
OH, Brooke Hammond Brooke Hammond 5'8" | OH Garden Plain | 2022 State KS , 5’8”, Garden Plain (Ranked No. 91) – Hammond is a solid player for the Garden Plain Owls. During her junior season, she racked up 326 kills and 236 digs. She should be watched closely by NAIA and JUCO college coaches.
