Dunes is one of those clubs that has stood the test of time, dating all the way back to before the JVA split from USAV. With that in mind, there are plenty of juniors available to play at the next level starting in the fall of 2022.

The lone junior available on Dunes’ flagship team is Myrriam Dhoore, a spitfire of an outside that should look to be a six-rotation passer. Her ball control and ability to hit every shot needed as an OH2 makes her very useful at the next level.

Seven class of ’22 members dot this roster as uncommitted. Aniya Kennedy Aniya Kennedy 6'0" | MB La Porte | 2022 State IN had me thinking that she would be playing middle for this squad, since that was where I saw her play during high school season. However, she’s listed as an outside on the Dunes website. She’s already going over people in the middle. Imagine what happens when a high-flyer like Aniya gets a hold of one against smaller blockers! Other hybrid attackers include Ellie Michiaels, Madison Figg and Chloe Holten. Ellie played exclusively middle, but also has ’OH’ listed on the Dunes roster. Madison has spent the majority of her time as an outside, yet is also listed as a middle on the Dunes roster. Chloe is primarily a middle, excelling going off of two feet and using her length to her advantage. I could easily see her as a right side with her blocking ability and size. Both Karly Klaer and Emma Knowlton are listed as setters, yet I feel Karly could double as a right side, since she can jump touch near ten feet. Finally, Kylie Smith will look to be the libero on this roster, and is easily one of the top passers in the club.

The 17-2 team is a “2s” team in name only. Many juniors and older sophomores are on this roster, with most well-rounded athlete being Pipar Wade. Her ability to attack, receive serve and defend will serve her well in the future. A few other attackers on this squad include Charlotte Bartlett, Mya Kalita and Sarah Kwiatkowski. Mya is probably the only true middle of the bunch, while both Charlotte and Sarah can play either pin. Rounding out the juniors on this roster is DS Hayden Rosenbaum. Expect solid passing and smooth defense from Hayden.
