Destiny Ndam-Simpson
DestinyNdam-Simpson6'1" | OHOmaha Westside | 2023StateNE is a great athlete. She’s got a nice vertical and touches 10’. Her back row play has improved immensely this season and watch for her to continue to develop her all-around game in club. She has transferred to Omaha Westside which will make a strong Westside team even stronger. She will be a top-level recruit next June. Destiny contributed to her prior school, Bellevue West, with 381 kills, 263 digs and 617 receives.
Grace Heaney
GraceHeaney6'2" | RSElkhorn North | 2023StateNE is also a top-level lefty right side with a bouncy jump and a heavy ball. She sees the open court well and can out jump a lot of blockers. She’s a multi-sport athlete, also playing basketball for her newly opened Elkhorn North High School. She had 354 kills, 45 blocks, 203 digs and 332 serve receives.
Alanna BankstonAlannaBankston6'1" | MHMillard North | 2023StateNE is a versatile middle hitter who I also saw play some outside hitter in high school. She’s quick from side to side and does a great job closing the block to the pins. Bankston also has a strong swing and can put the ball to the floor. She led her Millard North team in kills with 247 kills, and 81 blocks. She just keeps getting better and better.
Kensington TekronyKensingtonTekrony6'0" | MHOmaha Westside | 2023StateNE --this 5’11 sophomore put up 108 blocks, which was 3rd in Class A. Her blocking defense did a great job of setting up her team for success. She also contributed 165 kills.
Adison Markowski
AdisonMarkowski5'7" | SLincoln Pius X | 2023StateNE ran a fantastic offense for her Pius X state-qualifying team. She’s a multisport athlete and she’s just a great all-around athlete. She had 733 assists, 176 digs, and 38 aces. She has been running her Pius X team offense since her freshman year with a calm and consistency beyond her years.
Jocelyn HealyJocelynHealy5'8" | LOmaha Westside | 2023StateNE transferred from Duchesne to Omaha Westside for her sophomore year. She wore the libero jersey. She has a strong platform and gets a lot of balls that others can’t. She’s quick and reads hitters well. I’ve also seen her play outside, so she’s a versatile athlete.
Please remember there are many more girls with equally impressive skills. I’ve just previewed a few here in this article.
We know all these athletes have worked hard at their craft. Don’t get caught up in what number you are, as many student-athletes are very similar in skill. Rankings are always fluid and can have drastic changes year to year especially at the 15’s and 16’s level when girls are still growing and developing.
Stay safe and enjoy the rankings and articles to come!
