McClure has good all around skills given she has only been playing volleyball since the 9th grade. At 5’10, she did a little bit of everything for the Warriors this past high school season. Offensively, she has a good attacking foundation as she gets her feet to the ball well and can generate good lift off the court. She has good arm work and is proving capable of scoring from a variety of locations around the floor. As a setter, she has good footwork and hand position as she prepares to deliver. Her balance when in system helps her locate the ball through both pins with good extension and accuracy. With her rapid development, she shouldn’t be under the radar for too long once the club season gets going.
Macy Medors – 5’3 | DS/L | Upper Arlington
Medors packs a punch in her 5’3 frame as she makes big contributions on the court through her ball control and defense. She tracks the ball well in serve receive with good footwork to sustain her balance and create effective angles. Defensively, she reads the floor well and reacts well to both hard driven and off speed attacks off the opponent’s arm. She creates angles well and has good emergency skills that help her defend with good range. Medors averaged over 13 digs per match during the high school season.
Kaity Truman – 5’11 | MB | Genoa
Truman’s biggest contributions for her Genoa team were on the defensive side of the ball as she averaged just over four blocks per match. She tracks the ball well and uses strong hand position across the tape to take up good space and apply pressure to opposing hitters. On the offensive side, as she improves her transition and approach footwork to build more efficient momentum and timing, she will increase her command of the ball and should be more of an attacking presence and threat. Improving her arm work and torque will help to increase both her contact point and ability to hit with more range and power.
Paige Waite – 6’0 | MH | Rocky River
Waite was effective offensively for the Pirates as she has ability to attack and terminate a quick tempo option through a variety of zones around the setter. She has good footwork and opens up well and utilizes her length to create contact point that can be difficult to defend. Waite averaged 3.3 kills per set while hitting at a .353 efficiency to lead her team in both statistical categories. She also led her team defensively at the net as she averaged just over two blocks per match. She has a good skill foundation and it will be fun to watch her compete again during the club season as part of a national-level and on a more competitive stage.
