Writer note – Watching St. Paul for the last few years at the state tournament, it’s a wonder that Olivia Poppert Olivia Poppert 6'0" | S St. Paul | 2022 State NE is not committed in volleyball or basketball. I mean, look at that smile⇑⇑ Come on college coaches – give this player a look! Strong physically and mentally, high volleyball IQ, and competitiveness that can’t be taught. She can take over and control a game at a moment’s notice. I hate when my team is on the other side of the net or tip-off (basketball) from her and the Wildcat team and I believe you would have every other team in the state say the same thing.
ST. PAUL

Coach Matt Koehn-Fairbanks:
Olivia is a born leader and one of the toughest competitors you will find. Whether it’s volleyball, basketball, track, or lawn darts, she is going to try to beat you at it. She is also a proven winner. As a starting setter, she has a career record of 104-4. She was team captain as both a sophomore and junior despite having eight seniors in the class ahead of her.
WAVERLY
Mady Banitt | 2023 | MH | 6’0 | Waverly | VCNebraska
Coach Terri Neujahr:
Mady is just touching the tip of what she may become. She is a really physical player who elevates well on the block and hits with power on the A and B. She reads well and closes the block consistently. She is excellent at looking a coach in the eye, taking feedback, and making adjustments. She is enthusiastic not only for herself but for her teammates.
O’NEILL
Wreese Liewer | 2023 | RS | 6’0 | O’Neill | Nebraska One
Coach Angie Robertson:
Wreece is a young player that already has the court sense and intensity to be a game-changer. This season she had to set out 12 games due to covid. Her presence was certainly felt when she returned. Our O’Neill squad still was able to capture 19 wins and I strongly believe if she could have been there those 12 games we would have easily hit 24-25 and had a chance at a Wild card. She has raw talent, fast arm swing and can cut the ball like a knife. Her dream is to play at the collegiate level and Wreece is driven to do what it takes to make it happen. She is competitive, witty, and supportive. I believe without a doubt she could play and strive at the next level.
