While it can be difficult to gauge a player’s talent level from other stats, hitting percentage is not something that a good offensive player can get around. Here are the top five statistical leaders for hitting percentage from this past high school season for the class of 2023:

– Young earned her playing time with consistent play and a high hitting percentage all season. Throughout 84 sets played this season for a Liberty team that went 19-7, Young finished with 213 kills. Averaging 2.5 kills/set, Young hit an astounding .346% on the season; giving a season-high hitting percentage of .667 in a 2-0 win over Osage, with six kills on nine attempts and zero errors. - Anna Harrold, OH, Lawson
– Lawson rolled to a 25-4 record this season, with Harrold playing a big role in the team’s success. Through 81 sets played, Harrold averaged 3.6 kills/set on a .314 hitting percentage. Accumulating 294 kills on the season, Harrold hit a season-high .778% in a 2-0 win over Lathrop, where she finished with eight kills on nine swings with only one error. - Emma Siron, MH, Sacred Heart (Sedalia)
– Siron was very active for her Sacred Heart team as they finished the season at 20-8-1. In those 29 matches, Siron played 79 sets and reached 4.6 kills/set. With 348 kills on the season, Siron reached a .328 hitting percentage. Her season-high was a .667% in a 3-0 win over Otterville, with eight kills on 12 attempts and zero errors. -
