#12 Hayley Wolf | 5’6 | L/S | Elkhorn North | Premier
I often ask officials for reports about teams and players they see throughout the season. I kept hearing about how the newly formed Elkhorn North team with only freshmen and sophomores was getting better and better all the way around. Hayley wore the coveted libero jersey for the Wolves and averaged 4.8 digs/set (386 season) and 3.3 receptions/set (261 season).

Coach Bryson Mahlbeg comments, “Both players are extremely competitive and have a high volleyball IQ. Coaches should notice the versatility of both players. Aubrey could be a collegiate setter, but plays middle in the front row for us. Clara could be an amazing libero, but plays outside for us. Both girls have such high character and work very hard and are willing to do anything for the betterment of the team. These are the players that any coach would love to have on their team.”
At 23-12, the Swedes fell to St. Paul in the district finals. On the season, Clara led the team with 3.1 kills/set with Aubrey close behind with 2.5 kills/set. Aubrey, setting in a 6-2, had 4.4 assists/set and a team-leading 32 blocks. Defensively, Clara had 3.4 digs/set and 3.0 receptions/set.
#54 Ava Densberger Ava Densberger 6'1" | OH Lincoln North Star | 2024 State NE | 6′ | OH | Lincoln North Star | VCNebraska
Joining some other very talented freshmen, Ava played in 59 sets and averaged .6 kills/set and 15 blocks. The Gators will graduate 6 seniors and many of the underclassmen will have the opportunity for more playing time.
WATCH LIST
Kayla Eggiman Kayla Eggiman 5'8" | OH Bellevue West | 2024 State NE | 5’8 | OH | Bellevue West | Premier
Kayla found a spot in the front row for the Thunderbirds last season with 1.4 kills/set. The Thunderbirds made it to the Class A State Tournament for the first time since 2006.
Coach Christina Krajicek comments, “Kayla was a front-row player for us, she wasn’t quite ready to take the heat/speed of the ball defensively but definitely matured as the season went on, and will eventually take on a defensive role. Kayla definitely held her own offensively this year and has a nasty serve. She is a powerful OH hitter who helped us get to the state tournament.”
Taylor Olsen Taylor Olsen 6'0" | MB Bennington | 2024 State NE | 5’9 | MH | Bennington | Elite
With a young team in 2020 and going 14-16, Bennington only graduates two seniors. Many of the younger players will be competing for varsity spots.
Addison Johnson Addison Johnson 5'10" | OH Columbus | 2024 State NE | 5’9 | OH | Columbus High | Elite
Coach Joe Held comments, “She played extensively on JV this last fall and was a great six rotation player for our JV team. She played setter/RS coming into the fall but we transitioned her to the outside and we are happy we did that. She continued to improve this fall and took a major step the last month or so of our season. Addison has the tools to be a major contributor for us in the future. She has a high volleyball IQ, she’s a winner and loves to be in the gym. She is extremely coachable and a great teammate. She did make our varsity roster for postseason and we are hoping she can continue to develop and compete for an open spot on our varsity team this fall.”
Eleanor Brislen Eleanor Brislen 5'11" | OH Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE | 5’11 | OH | Omaha Westside | Premier
Brislen found her way into 28 sets on varsity last season. Look for the Warriors to be very competitive next season!!
A NOTE ABOUT RANKINGS
Player rankings are a constant work in progress, especially with athletes at the 15s and 16s level. Some players hit their stride at different times and for others, it’s a matter of getting their chance whether it’s high school or club. We seek feedback from coaches around the state and are always looking to add names as well as update information. For the players, your ranking does not define you. This is a list that is a resource for schools, it’s fun to see athletes from across the state, and is a great way to connect players with each other as well as coaches throughout the country.
