(Sooooon.)
But before then, there are still a ton of available class of ’21 players looking for a place to play next fall. With first names starting with the letter ’J’ for January, here are my top five.
Jada Allen Jada Allen 6'1" | OH Fishers | 2021 State IN , 6-1, OH
This is a high-flying, heavy-hitting outside that can hit any of the shots and plays on Mike Lingenfelter’s Samurai squad at Munciana. The premier program in the state of Indiana, this team has already laid waste to the MEPL, and Jada’s 10’+ attack touch has been a good part of it. Jada is, in this author’s humble opinion, the best available recruit in ’21, no matter what her name starts with.
Jaylynn Dunsmore Jaylynn Dunsmore 6'0" | MB Yorktown | 2021 State IN , 6-0, MB
Jaylynn has something that none of the other kids on this list have; an IHSAA state championship. She was second in kills and first in blocks for Yorktown in the fall, and has played for Munciana for what seems like forever. Probably more suited for an M2 at the next level, she’s more than capable of playing either middle position, and her size and length make her appear taller than her six foot frame.
Jennifer Pitts Jennifer Pitts 5'7" | DS/L Zionsville | 2021 State IN , 5-7, DS
Forced into an OH position for Zionsville last fall, Jennifer will probably play DS at the next level, yet her versatility leads me to believe that she can do multiple things for multiple small schools next fall. She gets every ounce of her athletic ability into her jump; just watch her approach. Her max effort on every jump shows her willingness to give everything to the sport, regardless of what position she’s placed into.
Jordyn Pax Jordyn Pax 5'6" | DS/L Plainfield | 2021 State IN , 5-6, DS
Already receiving multiple offers to play tennis next year, this defensive specialist is a “Jane-of-all-trades”, if you will. She can play any spot in the back row, anticipates at a high level (due to her high-level tennis background), and can receive serve with the best of them. You can find Jordyn on 18 Black at Circle City.
Jillian Gregg Jillian Gregg 5'9" | S Parke Heritage | 2021 State IN , 5-9, S
Since my first view of Jillian, I always got the impression that she was the “get it done” type of player. No flash, no loud leadership, just someone who can run an offense efficiently, leading by example and doing her job well. High hands, accurate set placement and above average defense has Miss Gregg as part of a modified 6-2 on Circle’s 17/18 Purple roster.
