Continue ReadingOver the last few months, we’ve provided you a lot of information about who are the players you won’t want to miss when the high school volleyball season starts in Washington next March. First, we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
Expect a high level of competition from the ten high schools which are part of the 4A South Puget Sound district and the three best players in the area are:
Hailey Brockway Hailey Brockway 6'0" | OH Graham-Kapowskin | 2023 State #125 Nation WA – Outside Hitter – Sophomore – Graham-Kapowsin
Few players have been as dominant as Hailey Brockway Hailey Brockway 6'0" | OH Graham-Kapowskin | 2023 State #125 Nation WA in the state of Washington in 2019. In her first year of high school volleyball, the Graham-Kapowsin prospect took her team to a third-place finish at the State Championship. The six-foot outside hitter is a beast, one of those players who have the ability to impact every aspect of the game, as she did for the Eagles in 2019 with 427 kills – only failing to produce double digits in the skill in one of the team’s 21 matches -, 195 digs and 157 passes. The excellent performance made of her the district’s Most Valuable Player and an All-State first-team selection and granted her a spot at prepdig.com’s class of 2023 watchlist.
Adele Holland – Setter – Senior – Puyallup
Setters are typically in position to heavily influence their teams, but not many of them get to do it in such a strong way as Adele Holland does. The Puyallup offensive coordinator got her main job done with a whopping 1,110 assists, but also impacted the Viking’s game significantly with her 44 kills, 37 aces, 40 blocks and 237 digs. The 5’8” Holland was an All-League first-team player last season and was also nominated as an All-State team honorable mention.
Avi Vetter – Outside Hitter – Senior – Olympia
Avi Vetter is half of the strong sister duo that leads Olympia’s offensive game alongside her younger sister Aris. The six-foot outside hitter is among the most technical players you’ll ever see with the bulk of her game refined in beach volleyball courts around the country. In 2019, Vetter had a really powerful campaign, producing 356 kills, 18 aces and 304 digs for the Lady Bears and earning an All-League second-team selection. She is set to continue her volleyball path on the sand as she committed to playing collegiate beach volleyball with Stanford.
