There are three players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
DeAndra Pierce DeAndra Pierce 6'0" | MB Austin | 2021 State TX [2021] 6-0 Middle (HS: Austin/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: University of Texas)
DeAndra Pierce DeAndra Pierce 6'0" | MB Austin | 2021 State TX is currently ranked as the 53rd best overall prospect in the 2021 class with the latest update to our rankings. We profiled her back in July when we added her to the State Rankings. In that article we said the following, “Austin areas 25-6A newcomer of the year makes the grade on this list. College coaches will drool once they see the raw natural athleticism this young lady brings to the table. She can fly AND she contacts the ball truly at the top of her touch point. Opposing blockers will get lucky to touch her attack. That much power should just not come from such a wiry frame, but it does. She hits with so much power that is so much fun to watch. She can hit both a high tempo behind a setter and fast tempos coming out of the middle in transition. That is the definition of athleticism on the court. Timing is everything in attacking and this young lady has no flaws when it comes to timing. An update to Miss Pierce is that she continues to shine as she is also a part of the 10 foot club with her approach touch. Middles who can fly and are this athletic are not something you see every day. If I were a college coach, I would love to take this young lady under my wing and mold her into a scoring machine.” We are extremely excited for her to stay in her hometown and play at one of the most prestigious volleyball programs in the nation at UT. Coach Elliot does it again and the rich keep getting richer. She will be an asset to their program as they will compete for a National Title again. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level. We will be watching and cheering her on.
Jacee Childers [2021] 5-6 Setter (HS: Gunter/Club: Power Volleyball & 692 Beach/Verbal: Hardin Simmons University)
Miss Childers is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings list but is a talented setter from Gunter High School. She plays for a smaller club called Power Volleyball. She is a smaller setter who is quick on her feet and solid when getting her teammates involved in the match. Jacee has led her team to be UIL Regional Finalists in 2018 and 2019. She is extremely athletic with a 26 inch vertical. This young lady has one of the smoothest releases for a shoot set that I have seen in a while. It is beautiful the way the ball floats out of her hands in such a fast manner. She is strong enough to push the ball to the right side attacker out of system consistently. She is the Gunter career assist leader and also was named setter of the year for District 9-3A in 2019 as a junior. She followed that up with a TGCA 3A All-State selection as a senior. She is a stud and will do great things at Hardin Simmons next year. We are extremely proud of her choice to realize her dream of playing volleyball at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on her accomplishment.
Kendall Buish [2021] 5-9 Setter (HS: Klein Cain/Club: Willowbrook/Verbal: Queens University of Charlotte)
Miss Buish is currently an unranked prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a very skilled setter from the North Houston area. Kendall is a master at tracking an out of system ball with good footwork. She has been trained exceptionally well at her Willowbrook Volleyball club. She is able to jump set and locate all tempos consistently around the net from various positions on the court. She amassed 850 assists, 233 digs, and 24 aces in two years on varsity at Klein Cain High School. Queens University of Charlotte will be able to use her solid skills next year in their program. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level.
