Here is a look at a group of tall “under the radar” Kansas middle hitters who played well during the day’s event which featured 29 17U teams from the Midwest.
Rachel Ziesman, 6’0”, PVA (St. James Academy) – Ziesman will really benefit from playing club ball this winter. She is a strong middle-hitter who played on a talented and experienced St. James Academy squad. Ziesman amassed 115 kills and 16 blocks in her junior season. She will be relied on more heavily during her senior season and club ball will help her prepare for that ’21 campaign.
BreAnn Meisner, 5’8”, Kansas Volleyball Club (Riley County) – Meisner plays bigger than her five-foot-eight frame. She has a long reach and a nice vertical. She finished her junior season at Riley County with 61 blocks and 96 kills. She might top out as an NAIA prospect, but she is very deserving of a look at remaining club events.
Lauren Cary, 5’11”, Shockwave (Trinity Academy) – Cary has a spark about her that is contagious. She plays with high energy and she might not be done growing. Cary provides a solid net presence and will be a player to keep tabs on the remainder of the club season and into her senior year.
Brooklyn Lassiter, 5’10”, Lawrence Juniors (Home Schooled) – Lassiter is a raw talent who will gain some recruiting exposure by playing club ball. She has a long reach and a great jump. She hits the ball with authority and will only improve her skills as she plays more. She has a high ceiling and is a JUCO talent for sure.
