Joining them in Nebraska with Missouri players featured on their roster will be Mizuno Club North in a loaded field. Here are some players we look forward to seeing in action this weekend.
Olivia Hasbrook Olivia Hasbrook 5'9" | DS/L Eureka | 2024 State #56 Nation MO / 5-8 / L / Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite / Eureka
Hasbrook is a gamer and we love watching her in action. She is a premier defender at this age and poised in the passing game. She has great court awareness and is a leader on the court.
Allison Risley Allison Risley 5'11" | OH Lafayette | 2024 State #187 Nation MO / 5-10 / OH / Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite / Lafayette
We didn’t know much about Risley until watching some footage and she immediately stood out. She has a fast arm swing and can hit a heavy ball when perfectly set. We like her size and look forward to seeing her game develop.
Emma Parker Emma Parker 6'1" | MB Eureka | 2024 State MO / 5-11 / OH-MB-RS / Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite / Eureka
We are very much looking forward to checking out Parker this weekend. She entered our top 10 rankings and we received an e-mail saying to keep an eye on her as she should be considered as the top in the class. The competition this weekend will go a long way in moving up the rankings. She looks fully recovered from a knee injury and has looked good in this early season.
Alyssa Nelson Alyssa Nelson 5'8" | S Wildwood | 2024 State MO / 5-7 / S / Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite / Lafayette
One of the more technically sound setters in this young age group, Nelson is a player to keep an eye on. She pushes the ball well to the pins and has good timing with her middles. We love her competitiveness and playmaking ability.
Emma Hoing / 5-10 / OH / Rockwood Thunder 15 Elite / Unity (IL)
We typically don’t highlight players from other states even though they play on a Missouri team but we will this time. We talk about Hoing for a couple of reasons. One, she is a good player and new addition to this Rockwood team. We love her ability to take quality swings from both pins and score with high efficiency. She is aggressive on every attack and always looking to score. Second, she is a team player and tags us at every opportunity to talk about the team or to offer praises to her teammates. These are the types of players colleges love to get to know. Those athletes who are “we over me” through and through and quick to join in the praise of others. Keep up that attitude Emma, with it and your game you’re going places!
Caroline Wengler Caroline Wengler 5'11" | MB Park Hill South | 2024 State MO / 6-0 / MB / Mizuno Club North 15 National Sam / Park Hill South
Wengler is an explosive middle. We had the chance to see her contribute as a freshman on a talented Park Hill South team. She is a quick attacker who is going to continue to develop as she gets stronger. Her blocking is solid but will improve also. She is good in front of the setter and adding an effective slide to her skillset.
Mikalah Davis Mikalah Davis 5'9" | OH St. Michael The Archangel | 2024 State MO / 5-10 / OH-MB/ Mizuno Club North 15 National Sam / St. Michael
Athleticism and potential are what come to mind when describing Davis. She plays above the net and is a difference-maker on the court. She is good in the passing game and solid defensively. As she navigates the club scene, her stock should rise over time as she plays tougher competition.
Avery Ashby / 5-9 / OH-RS-MB / Mizuno Club North 15 National Sam / St. Pius
Ashby is another small school player who had a good inaugural fall season for St. Pius. She had 140 kills and hit over .250 during the year. She greatly improved her numbers throughout the season, ending it in a fury of highly productive kill performances. We look forward to seeing that transition into the club season and this weekend in Omaha.
Claire Mosh / 5-6 / L / Mizuno Club North 15 National Sam / S.t Pius
Ashby’s high school teammate joins her during the club season in Libero Claire Mosh. We love the little film we’ve been able to check out of Mosh this winter. She is tremendous along the back row in keeping rallies going with digs and hustle plays. Her passing is exceptional and typically gives her setter numerous playmaking options.
