Continue ReadingWe are back in the Houston area to explore some updates on a few players from our State Rankings List. These H-town vballers have been tearing it up on the court this past high school and current club season. We couldn’t be happier to give them kudos for their hard work. Here they are:
Paris Herrman Paris Herrman 5'11" | OH Thompkins | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-11 Outside (HS: Tompkins/Club: Houston Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Paris is currently ranked as the 33rd top prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We wrote an article on Miss Herrman early last summer welcoming her to the State Rankings and here is a little about her,“The uncommitted true six rotation outside hitter will have no problems adapting to the college game in a few years as she has been dominant on the left side of the court since she was a young player. She is now getting a lot of much deserved recognition by a lot of volleyball publications this year. And you can see why when you watch her play. She can absolutely bang on the pins. She is one of the best outside hitters in her class. Paris has one of the angriest arm swings you will ever see. I almost feel sorry for the ball when she hits it. The defense has little time to react once this young lady makes contact. What I love the most is when she hits line, she torques her body so well and completely squares her body so she can get her maximum amount of force behind the ball. If you haven’t seen her, you will very soon as she is on a lot of college coaches’ radars.” She has been a star for her Varsity squad since her freshman season. In three year she has accumulated 948 kills, hit .295, had 72 blocks, 178 aces, and 944 digs. She literally does it all for Tompkins High School. This past year she helped them to a 14-8 overall record and an 8-4 district record. She has been named to the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association 6A post season team and has also made the 1st Team All District. She also finished the USA beach season last summer by going 30-4 overall. She and her partner finished 17th overall at USA Beach Nationals. She is a stud and will be picked up by a college soon. My suggestion is to give her a look now before she is scooped up!
Lindsey Kriendler Lindsey Kriendler 6'1" | MB Cy Creek | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-2 Outside/Middle (HS: Cy Creek/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: University of New Hampshire)
Miss Kriendler is currently ranked as the 68th top prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We wrote an article on Lindsey early last August welcoming her to the State Rankings and here is a little from the article, “Miss Kriendler is a very talented and long player who can play both on the pins and in the middle. This kid will move up our rankings very fast in the coming months. She has burst onto the scene and is lighting it up. She can hit every tempo and hit them with so much power. This is one young lady that colleges cannot afford to pass up. She has great ball control on serve receive and can hit so many shots. To be that big and have that great of shot selection is what will keep her at the top of this talented recruiting class in the state of Texas. I love how her former club program Tornados kept her running an inside fast shoot set from the left. It was almost unstoppable. Now she will be playing for her new club who is no stranger to playing against top talent, Houston Skyline. She will have some great teammates and have many one on one opportunities to showcase her skills. Keep your eye on this young lady as she has a very high ceiling.” Lindsey just keeps getting better every year for her Varsity volleyball team at Cy Creek. Each season her offensive stats got better and this is a great sign for the University of New Hampshire that she committed to recently. In three years as a starter on varsity she has accumulated 697 kills, .257 hitting percentage, 148 total blocks, and 120 aces. Her senior season will definitely add to those totals as she will keep improving her skill-set. She will again look to lead her team in attack attempts and kills during her senior campaign. She is also a stud in the classroom as she is academically ranked 3rd out of 788 students in her class. We are proud to have her as a State Ranked player in our system and look forward to covering her for the future.
Alexis McDaniel Alexis McDaniel 5'3" | DS/L College Park | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-3 Libero (HS: College Park/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alexis McDaniel Alexis McDaniel 5'3" | DS/L College Park | 2022 State TX comes in ranked as the 86th ranked player in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for a great club program in the North Houston area in TAV Houston. She originally played for Texas Tornados volleyball club in the past. We profiled her last summer and said the following, “She is a prototypical libero with her court movement and the way she keeps her head and eyes laser focused on the opponent while the ball is in play. The one aspect that stands out the most is her natural soft touch on hard driven balls. She absorbs contact with her platform like it is a super power. She uses her hands on overhead digs and is no stranger to the floor as she throws her body toward the ball with a relentless pursuit of it. She has a solid serve that stifles opposing serve receivers. She is also able to serve a nasty short serve that scores and keeps opponents off-balance. I think she can definitely play at the next level and would be a coach’s dream to have as she would push all teammates to play more aggressive defense. Keep your eye on her as she has a couple of years to continue to impress.” She is an AVCA Phenom Watchlist member and has also made 15-6A 2nd Team All District. In two years on varsity, she has accumulated 854 digs, 550 service receptions, and 63 aces in a very competitive district against amazing competition. We fully expect Alexis to keep progressing in the back row due to her work ethic and court vision. She has a wonderful touch on the ball and amazing defensive range that could easily help out a college program. She deserves a solid look by any coach who is looking to solidify their back row. We are excited to watch her for the next few years and will keep you updated on her play during the club season.
