Here is a look at three of the seven players who finished with more than 150 kills and two others who were just short of that mark. All five of these student-athletes will be heading into their senior seasons next fall and are members of the 2022 recruiting class.
S, Katy Harris Katy Harris 6'0" | S Atchison | 2022 State KS , 6’0”, Atchison – Harris is a multifaceted volleyball player. She shared time playing setter for Atchison but led the team with 385 kills. She also added 236 assists and 181 digs proving that she is an all-around athlete. She tips the ball well and is able to find holes in the oppositions’ defense.
S, Madi Bruce, 5’7”, Atchison – Another versatile Redmen volleyball player is Bruce. She racked up 198 kills from her setter position. She led Atchison with 410 assists. Bruce also has a solid serve finishing with 77 aces in her junior campaign.
OH, Jenna Hayes, 5’9”, Abilene – Hayes is a solid hitter for Abilene. She did not have a great hitting percentage in 2020, but she finished with 192 kills and 293 digs in her junior season. Improving her percentage will help her garner more college attention.
MB, Sophia Ewy, 5’10”, Eudora – Ewy could play middle or outside for a college program. The Cardinal junior finished with 157 kills in 2020 to go along with 42 blocks. She is tall and has a long reach.
MH, Jaley Eck, 5’9”, Andale – Eck had a good hitting season in 2020, but her blocking skills are will get her a look at the college level. The Andale junior finished with 133 kills and 65 blocks for the Indians. She will be leaned on in 2021 if Andale is to have a successful season.
