Now, I wanted to give some acknowledgement to some players that are not the rankings….yet. They may be soon! These players have stood out and are gaining some steam to make the Prep Dig Rankings. Let’s look at some of the names.
Quinn Longo – S, Roxbury
A truly unique player, Longo is both a setter and an outside hitter for her school. Known as an outside, she came into her role as the primary setter for the 2019 season easily. Not only did she command the offense with grace, but she also racked up 481 assists, 45 aces, 150 service points, 172 digs, and 46 kills. Her training at outside and setter helped round out her game. It helps her have an idea to where a hitter wants the set.
Devyn DiPasquale – L, Passaic Valley
DiPasquale is the heart of the Passaic Valley defense. Her athleticism allows her to be a dominant force in the back row and allows everyone to play their game and fulfill their role. The team knows she goings to make the dig and make a good pass to the setter for a scoring opportunity. She showcased her defensive prowess with 393 digs last season; she has a lethal serve for good measure where she recorded 51 aces.
Megan Sears – OH, Indian Hills
Sears is an outside hitter, and last year she earned 235 kills, and 17 blocks at the net. From the back row, she showcased her versatility with 124 digs, and 34 aces. Clearly, she is a force to be reckoned with no matter where she is on the court with a lethal swing but one who is not afraid to do the dirty work to help the team.
Julianna Lavner – O, Wayne Valley
Lavner is a true right side for Wayne Valley and was potent offensively. She finished with 183 kills last season, but she’s a dominant force defensively too recording 39 blocks. Her ability to hit angles is what makes her scary for opposing defenses. Teams are unable to get an idea where she is going to go with the ball.
