It can be difficult for sophomores to receive significant playing time for 5A programs, but here are four members of the Class of 2023 who had earned enough playing time to rank among assist leaders in 2020.

Kaylee Lively Kaylee Lively 5'7" | S Maize | 2023 State KS , 5’7”, Maize  – Lively can set and play defensive specialist. The Maize sophomore finished with 294 assists in 2020. Maize will be looking to earn a berth to the 5A State Tournament and the Eagles have a solid Class of 2023 to help them get there.

Gracie Kaumeyer Gracie Kaumeyer 5'9" | S Maize | 2023 State KS ,  5’9”, Maize – Kaumeyer can set and play right-side hitter. She amassed 280 assists during her sophomore season. It will be interesting to see if Maize splits the setting position between Lively and Kaumeyer if one steps up to become the primary setter.

Brailee Bogle Brailee Bogle 6'0" | S Wichita Northwest | 2023 State KS , 6’0”, Wichita Northwest – Bogle has a high ceiling and could be one of the top setters in Class 5A regardless of class. She finished with 263 assists for the Grizzlies in 2020. She communicates well with her teammates and does a nice job tipping the ball.
