Sarah Wilcock Sarah Wilcock S Mendham | 2023 State NJ (Mendham)
Wilcock had an incredible season last year. She managed to top team stats with 441 assists. She’ll have to fill that role on her own this season as she worked opposite of setter Nora Mulligan. Her deception as a setter make her a lethal passer and she always knows where the player with the hot-hand is. She has not stepped onto the court yet for Mendham but once she does, Mendham could be unstoppable.
Nicole Blair Nicole Blair 5'6" | S Bridgewater Raritan | 2023 State NJ (Bridgewater Raritan; CJVA)
Blair is a complete player. Her volleyball IQ is off the charts and has incredible instincts on the floor. Her sets are flawless with perfect height and accuracy. She finished with 419 assists last year and is the floor general for Bridgewater. She’s off to a rampant start with 51 assists in four games this season. Expect another phenomenal season.
Mia Pimentel Mia Pimentel S Bogota | 2023 State NJ (Bogota; Sideout Sports)
Pimental had 206 assists and 26 service points last season playing under Amber Vazquez Amber Vazquez S Bogota | 2021 State NJ at Bogota. Though she’s young, she’s certainly not inexperienced. Last year, she played up two age levels on the 16 National team at Sideout Sports. She will still be behind Vazquez but expect her to get plenty of opportunities to show off her skill. It will be interesting to see as Bogota open up their season this week.
Lorie Horta Lorie Horta S Roxbury | 2023 State NJ (Roxbury; Garden State Elite)
Horta was a freshman setter on Roxbury’s squad last season. She was the second option behind Quinn Longo, but still managed 62 assists and 28 digs. We can expect more from Horta this high school season as she’s been honing her skills on the Garden State Elite 16 Premier team in the off-season. To start off this season, she has been focal point at setter with Longo lining up more as an outside hitter. She already has 63 assists through 4 games beating last years mark. This could be a monster season!
