The team defeated both Monroe, on Tuesday, and Snohomish, on Thursday, in straight sets and is just one victory away from ending the season with a perfect 9-0 record. The Vikings’ season will come to an end on Monday, against Arlington.
Here are the players who contributed the most for their strong week:
Karli Tri Karli Tri 6'2" | MB Lake Stevens | 2021 State WA – Middle-Blocker – 2021
The senior veteran controlled the net as usual putting on a pair of strong offensive performances for the Vikings. The 6’2” middle-blocker registered nine kills against Monroe and followed it up with 11 against Snohomish, combining for 20 across both matches. Her kill percentage was also really high, averaging 55% between both matches. Tri also had two blocks against the Bearcats and a pair of aces in the meeting with the Panthers.
Michelle Fast Michelle Fast 5'8" | S Lake Stevens | 2021 State WA – Setter – 2021
One of the key players of this team, Fast was at her typical high level as the 5’10” setter had arguably her best performances in the entire season during the past week. She coordinated the Vikings’ offense masterfully, handing out 44 assists against Monroe, her highest mark in the season, and 42 in the match with Snohomish. She was very active against the Panthers, helping with a season-high 13 digs and adding four kills and two aces as well.
Piper Smith Piper Smith 5'5" | DS/L Lake Stevens | 2021 State WA – Libero – 2021
On the defensive side of the game, no one stood out more than Smith. The fourth-year libero brought her A-game this week and provided the defensive stability the Vikings needed to navigate what could have been a difficult week. She was a digging machine in both matches, tallying 14 digs against Monroe and 19 against Snohomish, and also as solid as it gets in serve-receiving, combining for 42 passes in the two matches – 29 in the first and 13 in the second.
