It is, however, a shortened season and in a little over three weeks it will have come to an end already. Knowing that, we certainly don’t want to waste any time and will continue with our weekly articles highlights the players who have been doing a great job in each of the state’s six divisions.
Let’s give a good look at the 2A and 2B divisions now.
2A
Emma Swett Emma Swett 6'1" | MB Woodland | 2021 State WA – Middle-blocker – Woodland – 2021
Ranked third on prepdig.com’s class of 2021 rankings, Emma Swett Emma Swett 6'1" | MB Woodland | 2021 State WA is putting up another strong performance and she’s on pace to have her best offensive season since joining Woodland in 2017. One of the most promising prospects in the state, the 6’1” middle-blocker has tallied 159 kills so far and is enjoying a career year in both kills per set (4.1) and hitting percentage (.300) – her kill percentage is her second-best ever at 43.8. The Beavers are holding strong with nine wins and four losses so far and Swett has been an integral part on their success with 118 digs, 141 passes, 22 aces and 16 blocks.
Alyssa Sangster – Libero – Clarkston – 2021
Alyssa Sangster seems determined to end her high school career on a high as the Clarkston libero has been really good in the current season. A 5’3” defender, Sangster holds an impressive average of 6.2 digs per set, which puts her total at 191 in just 31 sets. She’s also been an integral part of the Bantams’ serve-receiving efforts with 201 actions in that department so far. She also registered 19 aces for her team. Among a long list of strong performances, the one she had against North Central five days ago stands out with 26 digs and 34 passes.
Kenna Flynn – Setter – Anacortes – 2022
Kenna Flynn has done a great job in leading Anacortes to a positive 9-4 record as the team’s starting setter. The 5’9” prospect has been calling the shots for Seahawks and her ball distribution has been very efficient as she’s averaging impressive 7.7 assists per set to a total of 368 in the season. Flynn also produced 30 aces, 70 digs and 19 kills for her team in the season. She was at her best in a 3-0 win against Sehome in which she registered 24 assists, nine digs and six aces.

Alexia Bradley – Middle-blocker – Ocosta – 2024
Alexia Bradley is proving to be a valuable addition to Ocosta in her first year of high school volleyball. The 6’2” middle-blocker brought an important presence at the net for the Wildcats and has contributed to the team’s efforts in that area of the game with 46 kills and 27 blocks in just 36 sets. She’s been having her ups and downs, as any freshman would, but showed what she’s already capable of in a 3-1 loss to Forks in which she tallied 11 kills and four blocks.
Amber Born – Outside Hitter – Northwest Christian – 2024
Amber Born is another freshman who got to contribute with her team right off the bet. The first-year outside hitter proved to be a good addition to Northwest Christian with contributions all over the board for the Wolverines. Born is in the team’s top-three in both kills (third, with 27) and digs (second, with 32), but her serving game is what seems to be her difference-making skill. The outside hitter has already registered 20 aces in 19 sets and has converted more than one out of four attempts from the service line in a direct point for her team.
Izzy Bailey – Libero – Asotin – 2022
Izzy Bailey has been a defensive stud for an inconsistent Asotin team that won four of its six matches in the season. The libero has been consistently efficient for the Panthers and has been doing a fine job to lead the team’s backcourt efforts in the season. Bailey sits at the top of the team’s rankings for both digs (57) and passes (163) and also registered five aces.
