We have looked at some different clubs around the state and their top squads, but there are a lot of players around the state having standout performances thus far in 2021.
Here’s four players from FaR Out Volleyball that have been drawing some attention for their play this club season.
Macy Brown Macy Brown 5'10" | OH Cadillac | 2021 State MI , OH FaR Out 18 Gold
Brown was one of the big reasons Cadillac was able to reach the Division 2 state semifinals during the prep season. She led the state in kills with nearly 1,000. This club season, she’s shown her true six-rotation ability, making great passes and serves to compliment her power game. Brown’s volleyball IQ is as high as they come, which allows her to make plays from anywhere on the court with her diverse skillset. The University of New Haven has a great prospect on their hands, as she’s still got a high ceiling as she taps deeper into her defensive and passing skills.
Lauren Peal Lauren Peal 5'10" | DS/L Grand Rapids Christian | 2021 State MI , Libero FaR Out 18 Gold
Peal was a mainstay for Grand Rapids Christian and their three consecutive titles over the last three prep seasons. She has taken that consistency and reliability into the 2021 club season for FaR Out 18 Gold. Along with her athleticism and ability to get into great positioning to make a difficult pass, Peal has shown standout leadership skills for the squad. Her communication with her teammates has helped 18 Gold raise their collective game this year. The future Belmont product has played with a lot of great players over the last four years, but she also has helped raise the game of all of those great talents with her exceptional play.
Reilly Zegunis, MB FaR Out 16 Red
Club season is a great time for middles to really emerge and take their game to another level. Zegunis is a perfect example of that. Standing 6’0”, Zegunis has really started to use her size to her advantage. She has a great connection with her setters and is hitting quick attacks with great authority, showing the ability to power through the strongest blocks. As she continues to develop her footwork to hit behind the setter, her game is going to be tough to stop. Zegunis has great explosion, which also has helped her become a dominant blocker. She still has some work to do on reading attacks, but she has shown a great enthusiasm to get better and she raises her game against the stronger competition.
Paige Williamson, OH FaR Out 16 Red
Williamson is a firecracker as a 5’8” six-rotation outside. She has all the explosion you need in a great all-around talent. She can make the athletic plays, but also has the wherewithal to score points with her creativity and court IQ. Perhaps her greatest strength she brings to her team is her leadership skills. Williamson really commands the floor and her team, but does so in a way that is respected by her peers. When she talks, they listen. Williamson’s leadership, combined with her play, make her a great prospect for colleges to target as 2023 approaches.
