While their top squads are making some big waves nationally, they have a lot of great prospects to keep an eye on on other squads as well.
Here’s four names that are putting together a great 2021 thus far.
Molly Nakpairat, S 18-2 ADIDAS
Nakpairat is a great uncommitted prospect that is definitely doing her part to change that this club season. She has been doing a great job connecting with her hitters this year while facing some of the top blockers in the nation. Nakpairat has great leadership and communication skills, and she has really tapped into her potential this club season, which is bringing out the best in all of her hitters. Teams in need of a setter should definitely be knocking on her door.
Julia Fledderjohn Julia Fledderjohn 5'9" | OH Lakeland | 2022 State MI , OH/DS 17-2 ADIDAS
Fledderjohn has really shown her full range of skills this club season. A talented All-League outside for Lakeland High School, Fledderjohn has filled the need for Legacy 17-2 ADIDAS at the libero position. Her standout athleticism allows her to transition to the position with ease. Fledderjohn has an explosive first step, but also is able to slow the game down to make a great dig or pass for her teammates. She also can put down a great attack from the back row when time calls for it. This club season will really sharpen her defensive skills to make her an even stronger six-rotation talent come the prep season.
Rachel Zurek, MB 16-2 ADIDAS
Legacy has a great wealth of talent in the Class of 2023. Their 16-1 ADIDAS squad could be the best in the nation. However, their 16-2 ADIDAS squad is full of great prospects as well. Zurek is among them as a 6’0” middle. She also is coming off a promising prep season with Lakeland that saw her earn All-League honors. This club year, Zurek has raised her game another level. Her footwork is improving, which has led to stronger attacks and better blocking position. Zurek looks poised to really become a dominant middle in the next year.
Katie Berry Katie Berry 5'9" | OH South Lyon East | 2024 State MI , OH 15-2 ADIDAS
The Class of 2024 is in a big club season, as this is really the chance to find their role and where they can excel on the volleyball court. Berry has really found her home as a six-rotation outside hitter. The 5’8” outside from South Lyon East has showcased the ability to excel in the front and back row. Her instincts and athleticism allow her to move smoothly around the court. She has the explosive ability to terminate on her attacks, but is developing her offspeed skills as well. Defensively, Berry has a calm to her play that translates to great passing.
