Continue ReadingWe would love to officially welcome the 2024 class to the Prep Dig State Rankings. We are going to restart this series that we began this past spring with the freshman class of 2024. We have covered some in the Houston area already but are back again because they have a ton of really talented players on our State Rankings List. We are extremely excited to cover this class now that they have had their high school season complete. We have been very active in communicating with College Recruiting Directors all over the state so that we can bring the best to the eyes of the college coaches we have in our database that read our articles. So without further ado, here are a few more of the standouts from the 2024 class from Houston.
Tya Lynch Tya Lynch 6'0" | MB Cy Ranch | 2024 State TX [2024] 6-0 Middle (HS: Cy Ranch/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Tya as we currently have her ranked as the 33rd best prospect overall in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays high school volleyball at Cy Ranch High School and also club for Houston Skyline. She had a great year adding some firepower and defense to an already solid lineup for Cy Ranch’s Varsity squad who went 18-5 overall and 12-2 in district. Tya added 50 kills, hit a .238 hitting percentage, and added 32 blocks. She showed exactly what she could offer them for the future in the middle. We fully expect her to be a force for the next three years. Skyline uses her athleticism in both the middle and the right side. She has some growth to do but we fully believe in her potential to break out into a starring role very soon. Please help us welcome Miss Lynch to the State Rankings as we are excited to cover her this club season and for the future.
Erica Dellesky Erica Dellesky 5'10" | S Tompkins | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-9 Setter (HS: Tompkins/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Erica as we currently have her ranked as the 35th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Erica is a fantastic setter from the Katy area who plays at Tompkins HS and also for Houston Juniors on their nationally ranked team. She was pulled up on varsity for Tompkins but hasn’t gotten to show her true ability there yet. She will be looking for a bigger role as the years go by and the upperclassmen graduate from the program. She is no stranger to success though as she shines bright for her nationally ranked club team. Erica has a great athletic and strong frame that is built for the setting position. She has been trained well and jump sets all middle attacks in system. She plays solid defense in right back and shows a true soft touch on the ball with her platform. We think she has a great ceiling to move up the rankings in a few years. Keep your eye out for this one. We are excited to have her in the Prep Dig Family and are excited to watch her progress on the court. Please welcome her to the Prep Dig family and congratulate her on being ranked with the top players in the great state of Texas.
Alice Volpe Alice Volpe 5'5" | DS/L Bridgeland | 2024 State #83 Nation TX [2024] 5-3 Libero (HS: Bridgeland/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Alice as we currently have her ranked as the 36th best prospect overall in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Volpe is a fantastic libero from the Houston area. She is the daughter of Rice University Head Volleyball coach Genny Volpe and plays high school for Bridgeland HS and also club for Houston Juniors . She also plays on the beach circuit with her teammates at Houston Juniors and is a stud there too. It takes a great athlete in order to excel in both sports and it truly shows her ball control abilities in the sand. Her footwork is truly amazing during indoor volleyball and she is always properly balanced during contact. Her long legs help her ball pursuit and aid in her strong ability to cushion contact while she collapses on the dig. This is one reason why her contact on hard driven balls is so soft. We are excited to cover her for the future and can’t wait to see her progress. Please welcome her to the Prep Dig family and congratulate her on being ranked amongst the best in the state.
