These great players have been tearing it up on the court this past high school and current club season. We couldn’t be happier to give them kudos for their hard work. Here their updates:
Brooke Jeffrey Brooke Jeffrey 6'1" | OH Lake Travis | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-1 Outside (HS: Austin/Club: Roots/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Brooke is currently the 72ndranked prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings list. We profiled her last August and we stated the following, “The six rotation outside hitter has such a great frame and is built for the next level. She has a very strong upper body that is evident in the way she plays. Brooke can play all three positions along the net and her Roots team definitely utilizes her in them all throughout the season. Her biggest asset is her power. She an unload on the ball with the best of them. As a true six rotation player, Brooke has such a great strong platform when passing serve. She holds her platform well after contact to create a great angle on the ball. Offensively, Brooke is gifted with the ability to swing both line and angle with great power. She is a great point scorer for her team no matter which position she is playing. We are excited to watch her grow this coming season and think she has a very high ceiling to improve.” She helped lead Austin HS to a 17-4 overall record and an 11-3 district record. In two years on varsity, she has amassed 307 kills, hit an impressive .240 hitting percentage, had 103 blocks, 123 digs and also 17 aces. She is no stranger to a winning program as she was part of a 2019 National Championship team at USA Nationals. She is killing it right now with her Roots Volleyball squad as they were one of the pre-qualified teams for the Tour of Texas being one of the best teams in the state last year. We are excited to watch them as they embark on a quest for a bid to Nationals. Stay tuned for more club updates coming soon.
Katelyn Krienke Katelyn Krienke 6'0" | MB Vista Ridge | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-0 Middle (HS: Vista Ridge/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: UTSA)
Katelyn is currently ranked as the 80thbest high school prospect in the 2022 class in the State of Texas according to our Prep Dig State Rankings List. When we profiled her last August we said, “Miss Krienke is a very talented and long player who can play both on the pins and in the middle. Her primary role on her club team is middle but they have been known to throw her on the right side also to shut down opposing hitters. She is a true defensive stopper. Her long arms and great timing make her a very formidable blocker. She presses very well to seal the net and watches her opponents well to time the block. I really like the patience she shows while timing her opponents approach. It is very nice to see as a coach. She is a member of the vaunted ten foot club meaning she can approach touch ten feet high. What a lot of coaches will like when they see her play is her quick footwork out of the middle. All middles should transition extremely fast off of the net in order to be ready to hit the quick set and Katelyn has it. She runs every tempo out of the middle that you would want her to and she scores well. Take a look at this kid as she deserves a shot.” She has been stellar for the past three years for Vista Ridge as she has accumulated 548 kills, on a .324 career hitting percentage. She also has 221 blocks, and 14 aces as a middle which is impressive. She will do wonders as she is staying pretty close to home by committing to play volleyball at UT San Antonio in a few years. We are extremely proud of her and are looking forward to a stellar senior season next year.
Isabella Perez Isabella Perez 5'5" | DS/L Brandeis | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-4 Libero (HS: Brandeis/Club: SA Force/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Isabella Perez Isabella Perez 5'5" | DS/L Brandeis | 2022 State TX is currently the 90thranked player in the great state of Texas according to our rankings. We also profiled her last August where we said the following, “She plays for a great club program in the San Antonio area called Force. She has a solid platform when passing serve which allows her ball to be extremely consistent. I love the way she holds her arms well outside her body to allow maximum cushioning for hard driven balls. What stands out the most in her serve receive is the way she controls her teammates with great communication prior to serve. She does such a great job at directing which areas of responsibility each player will take before the ball comes. I also truly like her stance. Her base is strong and well balanced while moving to the ball and also at contact. She has been coached very well and its nice to see how coachable she has been to be so consistent. We are excited to watch her grow throughout this year in school and club.” She was part of a great varsity season at Brandeis this year as they went 20-3 overall and 15-1 in district. In years past for club she was asked to play as a six rotation outside hitter and did a fantastic job at it. She is very skilled at the game of volleyball and excels at each aspect. We love the way she plays the game and the motor that drives her. She is fun to watch as she never stops moving which helps her be in a great position to play the ball. We are excited to watch her continue to grow as a libero.
