High school season is underway in Oregon, but the state was represented last week at the 2021 Adidas Lone Star Classic 18s, a national club qualifier for USA Girl’s Junior National Championship which took place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, Texas.

The Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy sent two teams to the tournament with one of them, the OJVA 18-1 Gold, playing in the most competitive category, the 18 Open Division. The team finished ninth with two wins and six losses and here’s how some of the top players performed.

The top-ranked prospect of our 2021 Prep Dig State Rankings was one of the best players on the team during the tournament. The 5’11” showed a strong game at the net and was also very effective at the backcourt. McClellen benefited from her outstanding jumping ability to dominate the net and also scored quite a few times from the back row. She was also solid in the team’s digging and passing efforts.
