The class of 2023 continues to show us the hard work that they put into their craft and continues to make a name for themselves.
Grace Egan- C/O 2023 Sterling High School
Egan is a very strong and impressive athlete when it comes to looking at improving athletes coming out of the Class of 2023. Egan has a very strong right hand, having the upmost control of her strikes on the ball. Egan is a powerful player has she is quick across the court and has the ability to project her height when needing to block the ball. She is one of the key components to Sterling’s state title wins and is definitely making a name not only for herself but for her high school. Egan is going to be an athlete to continue watching as she is moving towards the end of her high school season and onto her club season.
Caylee Sharkey- C/O 2022, Sycamore High School
Sharkey is a very powerful and aggressive player when it comes to playing her position on the court. Sharkey is a dedicated player and has continued her training during her postponed high school season, allowing her to get stronger and get prepared for her high school season. Recently, Sharkey had decided to forgo her high school season to allow for her to continue competing for her club team. Sharkey stands at 6’3” and has an impressive block jump at 9’6” and an approach jump at 9’10”. Sharkey saw action at the 2021 March Madness tournament in Indiana, in which she performed at her highest level securing a win over her components. Sharkey has a very competitive athletic demeanor and her movement across the floor and her overall power is something you are going to want to follow and keep up with as she continues to compete at national level.
Anna McClure Anna McClure 5'8" | DS/L St. Thomas More | 2022 State #182 Nation IL – C/O 2022, The High School of St. Thomas More
McClure is a very diverse athlete that we are going to want to keep an eye on during the course of her volleyball career. McClure plays as a OH, Defensive Specialist and a Libero. McClure verbally committed to Ohio State in September as she made it important to know why she looks forward to her spring season. McClure has already made a name for herself, but being able to be so diverse on the floor has done nothing but work in the favor of expanding her playing options. Last season, McClure managed to play 83 sets, bringing in 354 kills, 181 digs and 35 serving aces. McClure is going to be one to keep an eye on as she continues to show out on the court and continues to make a name for herself.
Alexis Butler- C/O 2023, Triad High School
Butler stands at 5’10” and is one aggressive and competitive player when it is time to step on the court. Butler is currently playing with her club team, High Performance St. Louis, which she saw action against Mid State Force 17, finishing up with 4 kills. Butler has impeccable ball handling skills and has a very strong strike when it comes to scoring on the opposing team. Butler can be considered a developing player, but is going to be a player to keep watching as we are moving slowly into the summer season for most club teams. Butler currently serves as a OH and defensive specialist for her club team and her athletic skills do not fail when it comes to stepping on the court to help her team score a win.
Madeline Breunig- C/O 2023, Trinity High School
Breunig is definitely an upcoming and developing player when it comes to developing her skills on the court. Breunig is able to excel both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, allowing her to be more diverse on the court. Her teamworking skills show on the court and she communicates well with her middle blocker. Her ability to move across the floor and be able to dive so quickly allows her to be able to reliable when it comes to defending the ball. Shes swift on her feet and quick and responsive and is going to be one athlete to keep an eye on.
