Adelina Berisha (Scotch Plains-Fanwood; Outside Hitter)
Berisha is one we mention a lot and rightly so. She will continued to be mentioned if she has weeks like this one. Berisha had 3 matches this week for Scotch Plains totaling 32 kills. She reached a historical landmark as well as she surpassed 500 kills in her career. The icing on the cake was that the 500th kill was in a victory over No. 16 Union Catholic who has had Scotch Plains-Fanwood number in recent years.
Fiona North (Mother Seton; Outside Hitter)
North had one monster day to remember this week. Mother Seton played a double-header against St. Thomas Aquinas and racked up 26 kills. She finished with 34 total. Her endurance was on full-display being able to go through back-to-back matches and still be effective. Most importantly, she helped keep Mother Seton’s perfect season alive.
Gabrielle Barber Gabrielle Barber S Dwight-Englewood | 2022 State NJ (Dwight-Englewood; Setter)
Barber had an amazing week as a setter. She racked up 56 assists in Dwight-Englewood’s three matches this week. Her accuracy was on full-display and the teamplays in sync when she’s commanding the offense. Dwight-Englewood went a perfect 3-0 this week to make her performances that much better.
Kaitlyn Alexander (Hillsborough; Setter)
Alexander has been one of the top performers all season and has seen her stock rise with her consistency. She racked up 70 assists in three matches this week. I have not seen a poor performance from her yet. Yes, she only ran recorded 10 assists this week against Hunterdon Central in defeat but her passes were all on point, every opportunity she got. Hillsborough went 2-1 this week.
Connie Yu (Demarest; Libero/Defensive Specialist)
Yu had a performance to remember this week. She recorded 34 digs against Wayne Valley this week. She was all over the court showcasing her anticipation and athleticism. Some of the digs she made were crazy. In two matches, she finished with 47 for Demarest along with a 2-0 week. Yu has been a catalyst this year for Demarest in the back row.
Shakthi Sreenivas (West Windsor-Plainsboro South)
Lastly, we have Sreenivas who like North had to play a double-header this week. In the double-header she racked up 34 digs against Rancocas Valley and finished with 39 overall. Sreenivas has been all over the court and the real leader in the backrow for the West Windsor-Plainsboro South. Her play has West Windsor unbeaten on the year.
