Club volleyball season is at full pace and several tournaments were held in Texas this past weekend. Among them was the Skyline Classic #10, which reunited some 17s teams of the state at the Houston Skyline facilities on Saturday.

It was a small field tournament with only 18 teams entered and events like this present a rare opportunity for volleyball fans to spot some hidden gems in the early stages of their careers. Prep Dig was there and will provide our traditional tournament reports during the week.

These are the outside hitters who turned some heads during the event.

Nayeli Tia – HJV 17 Premier – 2022

Nayeli Tia added a lot of firepower to HJV 17 Premier when she joined the club coming from California. The 5’10” outside hitter has long arms and is a good jumper, a combination that makes her offensive game a very strong one. She’s got a lot of power on her right arm and can bounce balls in any direction. Her backcourt skills, which include a lethal serving ability and tremendous talent on defense, complete a very interesting package.
