Corey Paulson (Hunterdon Central)
Paulson was a mastermind on the court this past weekend in battle of two top squads as he led the way for Hunterdon Central to take down East Brunswick in a three-set thriller. Paulson finished the match with 28 assists. His accuracy was on point from anywhere on the court and he ensured to always make the correct pass based on East Brunswick’s court position.
Giovanni Perrone (Bergen Catholic)
Perrone was the lifeline for Bergen Catholic in their three-set defeat to Indian Hills. He was the reason the team had any chance throughout the match as he finished with 18 kills, 2 blocks and 3 digs. He kept his team in the match with any means necessary. His swing was on fire and he kept utilizing different angles to keep Indian Hills off-balance. They may have lost but it definitely was not because of Perrone.
Alex Yuan (West Windsor-Plainsboro South)
Yuan is the anchor of the West Windsor-Plainsboro South defense as he led the way in a match against their arch-rivals in West Windsor-Plainsboro North. He was all over the court it seemed like, his initial first step showcased his quickness to get to the ball along with a solid court position to be prepared if the ball was coming his way. He ended the day with 25 digs.
Patrick Kelly (Hillsborough)
Lastly, we have Kelly who led Hillsborough to a dominant two-set victory over Hopewell Valley. Kelly was in total command of the offense and spread the ball all over to give Hopewell Valley no chance from the start. He finished the match with 16 assists and made it look effortless at times. His volleyball IQ was on full-display for everyone to take notice and appreciate.
