The next two weekends especially as the Atlantic City Invitational presented by JBJ Events at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino will be taking place. This weekend is the Premier Division (May 22-23) and the following weekend is the Open Division (May 29-30).
The Premier Division this weekend was supposed to be girls and boys. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts with the boys high school season still underway it will be only the girls participating this weekend. The Open Division the following weekend will have boys’ teams.
The Premier Division this weekend will have roughly 130 teams with the Open currently around 140 teams.
This upcoming weekend has a special bonus with a College Showcase that will take place tomorrow night before tournament play opens up on Saturday. This is a phenomenal opportunity for players to be able to talk with recruiters along with completing drills run by college coaches which is available for all players. Lastly, there is a recruiting seminar for players and parents.
The tournament features squads across the east coast with teams from NJ, NY, PA, MD and more. This tournament is an AAU Super Regional which means that the squad that wins their division will receive free entry to one of the following AAU tournaments this summer: AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL, West Coast Championships in Las Vegas, NV, or the Volleyball Festival in Phoenix, AZ.
In order to receive the free entry, the division must have a minimum of 12 teams entered. If there is less than 12 teams, the fee will be discounted.
The tournament will be ran in the Convention Center where there will be 20 courts on the two floors of the Convention Center. The tournament will be following CDC guidelines with a mask mandate in place. Those who would like to attend can pay $25 for a two-day wristband.
The Club Season is starting to reach the pinnacle of their season as teams try to qualify for the major championships in Las Vegas and Orlando! It all starts this weekend in Atlantic City!
