Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
1B Southeast
One of the strongest teams in the entire class, Oakesdale didn’t take it easy in the shortened season, winning all of their ten matches and dropping only set in the district. Colton and St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse had similar campaigns, obtaining a 7-3 win record, and were the other two of the district’s six schools to end the season on a positive.
MVP
LouEllen Reed – Oakesdale – Setter – 2021
LouEllen Reed has been outstanding for Oakesdale during the entirety of her high school career and that was even more so in her final year with the Nighthawks as she won her first MVP award after back-to-back All-State first-team appearances. A two-time State Championship winner, the 5’7” setter averaged north of 30 assists per match and did so while keeping her usual great ball distribution. A true leader for her team and an outstanding defender, Reed will go to college at Lewis Clark State.
