Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
2A Central Washington
The 2A Central Washington district saw a head-to-head battle between two teams to dominate the division this season. No team ended the season unharmed, but Ellensburg came out on top, securing a 7-1 win record against Selah’s 5-1 campaign. Only two of the four other teams in the district won matches in the season – Prosser (1-4) and East Valley (1-6).
MVPs
Abby Harrell – Ellensburg – Outside Hitter – 2023
Abby Harrell lived up to the expectations of her fantastic freshman year and followed it up with even better performance for Ellensburg in her second season of high school volleyball. The 5’9” outside hitter led the Bulldogs with her great all-around game, which included a lot of power at the net and superior ball control and technique on the backcourt.
Addison Scott Addison Scott 5'6" | OH Selah | 2021 State WA – Selah – Outside Hitter/Libero – 2021
Addison Scott Addison Scott 5'6" | OH Selah | 2021 State WA was used as an outside hitter for Selah this season but the main strengths of her game reside on the backcourt and that’s why she’s constantly used as a libero or defensive specialist too. The 5’5” Scott helped on offense but her difference-making performances came from the backcourt, where she was able to produce numerous digs and to score on aces.
