Continue ReadingHigh school volleyball is over in Washington and even though we were gifted with less action than we’re used to due to the abbreviated season, several players around the state made the most of the opportunity to develop and showcase their games in each of the 46 leagues of the Evergreen state.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
2A Evergreen
Tumwater cruised in the division with nine wins and just one setback during the season. Centralia also has a positive campaign with four positive and just one negative result. Black Hills (3-4) and WF West (2-4) also won matches, but had a negative win record.
MVP
Alyssa Duncan – Tumwater – Middle Blocker – 2022
Junior middle blocker Alyssa Duncan was the catalyst of Tumwater’s great campaign as she led the team to a strong season with her great play and by setting the example. The 6’1” prospect used her size well at the net, averaging 2.4 kills per set but also did a great in the backcourt with 2.09 digs per set. It was a season in which she developed her confidence and leadership skills as well.
