Continue ReadingHigh school volleyball is over in Washington and even though we were gifted with less action than we’re used to due to the abbreviated season, several players around the state made the most of the opportunity to develop and showcase their games in each of the 46 leagues of the Evergreen state.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
2A South Puget Sound
Steilacoom was the leading force in the district with eight wins and just one loss during the season. Washington had a very solid performance too with five positive and just one negative result and finished ahead of White River, which finished with a 4-1 win record. Enumclaw (3-3) and Orting (4-4) ended the season even.
MVP
Dani Faamausilli – Steilacoom – Setter – 2022
Dani Faamausilli has been a stud for Steilacoom in each of her three years of high school volleyball and it was no different in the shortened season. The 5’9” setter handed out 319 assists, registered 91 digs, 33 aces and 33 kills for the Sentinels.
