’23, Grace Purichia Grace Purichia 5'7" | S Providence | 2023 State #149 Nation IN , 5-7 S, Providence
One of the most accomplished players in this class, Grace is a stud both indoors and outdoors. Her ball control is off the charts, her natural athleticism is equally so, and she’s received hardware in both disciplines on the junior scene. A 5-1 setter, she’s also capable of being part of a modified 6-2, which she’s done regularly at the high school level. This is a no-doubt prospect who will have her pick of where to go once she starts receiving offers.
’23, Cali Cummings Cali Cummings 6'1" | MB Seymour | 2023 State IN , 6-0 MB, Seymour
About halfway between Indianapolis and Louisville, just off of I-65, is a small pocket of high-level volleyball. Exit 50 has both Seymour and Trinity Lutheran, and both squads perennially pump out volleyball-playing studs year in and year out. Cali is no exception, and can either take up space defensively as a middle or be offensive as either middle position or as a right side. Her versatility is not new to Union folks; in all of the years I have been around the game here in the midwest, no club promotes multi positional talent like Union, and Cali fits that mold.
’23, Libby Dippold Libby Dippold 5'11" | MB Columbus East | 2023 State IN , 5-11 MB, Columbus East
A solid M2 option, Libby’s 5-11 frame seems underwhelming at first….until you play her. Miss Dippold’s lateral movement from pin to pin is the fastest on this squad, and she can hit all angles off of two feet. She also has length like a kid three inches taller than she, making her a nice addition to whomever signs her in two years.
’23, Caroline Hilbrich Caroline Hilbrich 5'9" | OH Floyd Central | 2023 State IN , 5-10 OH, Floyd Central
Playing club at Union and getting private lessons at KIVA, Miss Hilbrich is training to be a full-time six-rotation star, and has the skills to prove it. Her attack is high and hard, she smartly minimizes errors, and can do anything needed to win. I like her attitude, her work ethic and her all around volleyball IQ.
