184 teams have earned their right to represent their club and compete to be one of the best teams in the nation in four different 16’s divisions. The state of Oklahoma will be represented in the 16’s divisions with 3 teams making the trip to Nevada. This series will highlight those teams and players who get to culminate their season in such a prestigious fashion.
Oklahoma Peak Performance
One of the premier clubs from the Oklahoma region for a long time, Oklahoma Peak Performance from Oklahoma City, OK will be represented in the 16 USA division by OP2 16-1. The team led by head coach Will Ethridge has had an amazing season as they were able to Qualify for USA Junior Nationals at the Show Me National Qualifier. So far this season they have 39 wins and only 13 losses against some stellar competition. They also had a great showing at the Lone Star National Qualifier as they placed 9thoverall in the USA Division. They have been ranked 1stin the Oklahoma region so far this year in their age group. Let’s meet just a few of the players that will represent this wonderful team.
Kaylie Marshall Kaylie Marshall 5'10" | OH Piedmont | 2023 State OK [2023] 5-10 Left Side (HS: Piedmont/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kailey is currently ranked as the 3rd best overall prospect and the best left side in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Marshall is the real deal for Piedmont High School and also for OP2. The three-sport athlete is already one of the stars for her varsity team at such a young age. She has made all tournament teams multiple times and has also been named player of the week numerous times. Although she might be seen as undersized for the position or the next level, we have her ranked this high due to her offensive output and potential. She owns one of, if not THE, fastest arm swing in the state. The ball just disappears once her hand contact is made. She doesn’t need a lot of room when it comes to her attack approach, as she is very quick off of the ground without having to create momentum. We are happy to cover her and can’t wait to see what she can do against the best teams in the nation in Vegas.
Megan Roy Megan Roy 5'10" | MB Bishop Kelley | 2023 State OK [2023] 5-10 Middle (HS: Bishop Kelley/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Megan is currently ranked as our 7th best overall prospect and the 2nd best middle in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a solid contributor to her Oklahoma State Champion Bishop Kelley varsity squad as a sophomore as she tallied 95 kills on a .288 hitting percentage. She also had 37 blocks and 25 aces. Megan’s play on the court helped Bishop Kelley to a 34-4 overall record this past season. We love her explosive footwork when it comes to both closing the block and driving toward her setter for quick attacks. She is able to stop on a dime and her change of direction in transition is next level ready. She has great power and is able to cut the ball completely around the block to both corners to score efficiently. We are excited to cover her for the future and she will be looking to defend that state title next year for her junior season.
Abigail Gray Abigail Gray 5'9" | OH Norman North | 2023 State OK [2023] 5-9 Left Side (HS: Norman North/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Abby is currently ranked as our 12th best overall prospect and 3rd best left side in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is one of the young up and comers for Norman North High School and also for OP2. We like her versatility to hit both on the left and right pins at this age. She has good power and legit shot making abilities. Abby makes great adjustments mid-air to compensate for where the block jumped and changes her hand contact well. She has great timing when it comes to attacking and can still hit a great ball that might not be the best set. It is a lot more difficult to do that than people think and she has that ability. Her quick footwork is truly what stands out and we think she has tons of potential to get even better. Give this young lady a look and you won’t be disappointed. We are happy to have her in our State Rankings.
