As many as 728 teams are expected to compete in the 15 divisions for these three age groups and the state of Texas will, of course, be well-represented in the tournament with more than 60 teams expected to make the trip to Nevada.
During the next few weeks, we’ll use this space to present the Lone Star state representatives in the tournament, recapping their performances during the club season and highlighting some of their top prospects.
Roots 15 UA Green
Roots 15 UA Green is one of two teams from the Roots Volleyball Club from Austin set to compete in the 15 Patriot division. The team led by head coach Nicole Hajka has won two home tournaments in 2021, Roots #4 and #6, and also finished third at the TCS Stop in Houston. The squad has been having a good season so far, with 33 wins and 17 losses registered.

Players to Watch
Olivia Maib – Setter – HS: Cedar Park – 2024
Olivia Maib has great size for a setter at 5’8” but she also checks all the boxes in terms of skills and mindset. She has a great touch on the ball and is really reliable with her sets. Maib showed great potential in her freshman high school year as she managed to get playing time with her Cedar Park team and to average 2.6 assists and 1.2 digs per set.
Caton Firkins – Right Sider – HS: Vista Ridge – 2024
Caton Firkins has all the tools to succeed as a right sider. For starters, her 5’11” frame provides her with significant advantage against most of her opponents either when hitting or blocking. That’s maximized by her leaping ability, which is impressive enough to include her in the ten-foot club. She’s also a lefty, something that opens up a variety of angles for her offensively on the right.
Cameron Bradley – Libero – HS: Round Rock – 2024
Due to her 5’8” frame, Cameron Bradley could also play as an outside hitter, but she’s way more efficient when deployed as a libero or defensive specialist, where she can use all of her technique and defensive skills to help Roots 15 UA Green. Bradley, who formerly played for crosstown club Skyline, does a great job in coordinating the team’s serve-receiving efforts and is very solid on defense.
