They play multiple sports, have a small club reside not too far away, and have year-in and year-out success in multiple sports. Case in point, Hauser’s volleyball team won their conference, sectional and regional championships on their way to losing a close one in the semi state to eventual state runner-up Loogootee, whom we’ll talk about at a later date. Here are the Jets’ losses due to graduation, and three kids to watch for the upcoming fall season.
Graduating: Hannah Johnson and Aunaka Wasil
The season begins and ends with these two leading the way in multiple categories. Hannah led the Jets in kills, and was second in both aces and blocks. Aunaka was THE setter for Hauser in her last three seasons, amassing over 2700 assists in the process. Hard to replace just ONE of them, let alone both.
’23, Charlie Clark, 5-6 OH
The cupboard is hardly bare. This spitfire of a pin attacker is also a six-rotation player, averaging 2 kills per set and 3 digs per set in the process. She can hit high and hard, pound balls down, and has all of the shots a 1A outside should have to be successful. I hope to see more of her this fall.
’24, Kenze Bostic Kenze Bostic 5'10" | MB Hauser | 2024 State IN , 5-10 MB
You read that correctly, a freshman received all of the M2 reps this past fall for a regional champion. Although not needed as much offensively, Miss Bostic still finished #4 on the team in kills and actually LED the program in blocks. This is another kid that I would love to see more of in the fall, as she’ll be relied upon more as she ages.
’22, Andie Clark, 5-6 DS/L
The older sister of Charlie listed above, the Clark girls were responsible for over 1000 digs and received over half of all serves in play. There’s a ton of youth coming up, and Andie is the best leader the Jets could ask for. She gets touches on every ball and always seems to be in the right spot. Again, I need to get out to Hauser to see this squad play. Stay tuned to their (hopefully) continued success.
Edit: Looks like they’ve already started their winning ways with wins over Southwestern and Indian Creek to start their summer league.
