Continue ReadingThe offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Rebekah Williams Rebekah Williams 6'0" | OH Smithson Valley | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-0 Outside (HS: Smithson Valley/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Bekah is ranked as the 57th best overall prospect and the 21st best outside hitter in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a true six-rotation pin hitter who can do it all. We have covered her a couple of times and here is a little from them, “Coach Patton says that Bekah is an explosive player with so much contagious energy when she plays. She will be a threat for Smithson Valley on the outside with her versatility in offense. Bekah is a blocking machine and we can’t wait to watch her tear down opponents. She plays outside on her club team at nationally known club Alamo. She plays with a lot of fire and intensity. At Prep Dig, we love players like this. She has a cannon for an arm and will be one of the main offensive weapons for the Smithson Valley program this season. She has all fo the tools necessary to be a dominant force at the net. We expect great things from Bekah moving forward. When you watch this young lady play the game you are taken to a place mentally where you feel her energy. When she celebrates a kill, it is so contagious. I love players like this. She jumps so well off of the ground which helps her ability to get on top of a ball and obliterate it. She can swing in the seam of the block or go around them to hit line. And boy can she hit with power. She swings so well on both pins and there isn’t a shot she doesn’t have in her bag of tricks. I was able to watch her in person during the playoffs and she did not disappoint at all. What I love the most about her on the court is that nothing phases her. She has the confidence that you need in order to excel in the sport. She believes that the next attempt will result in a kill despite what happened the play before. That kind of uber-confidence that she has exudes from her personality and it is infectious to her teammates. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the rankings.” We are proud to announce that recently she has made her college choice and will play division one for Louisiana Tech after she graduates. La Tech is getting a true gamer and someone who will change their dynamic just by her competitive presence in the locker room. Some people have “it” and she is one who definitely does. We will be there to enjoy watching her in Vegas at USA Nationals this week and will also cheer her on for her senior season. In the meantime, please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing volleyball at the next level.
Alexa Pyle [2022] 6-3 Middle (HS: Smithson Valley/Club: San Antonio Juniors / Verbal: Fordham University)
Miss Pyle is currently unranked in the 2022 class according to our State Rankings but that could change once we update the rankings in a few months. She plays for Smithson Valley High School and club for the new kid on the block San Antonio Juniors . We are pleased to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Fordham University. Due to her high level of play at Smithson Valley this past season she was able to help them their dominant run through the season as she has been able to tally 166 kills on a .289 hitting percentage. She also had 120 blocks in the two years. Her six-foot tall frame is menacing spectacle for her opponents as she is able to form a super solid seal on the net and force the offense to swing around her. This kind of middle who can funnel the block is a coach’s dream to have on defense. Once you add her strong arm swing into the mid, you have one great volleyball prospect who will make an immediate impact on Fordham’s roster the moment she steps on campus. We really like what we see and have put her on our watch list for our next update to the rankings. Please congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level and stay tuned to see where she falls on the rankings.
Gail Sonnier [2021] 5-7 Outside/DS (HS: Westbury Christian/Club: Houston Juniors/Verbal: Alcorn State)
Gail is currently unranked in the 2021 class according to our State Rankings. She plays for Westbury Christian High School and club for Houston Juniors. We are pleased to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Alcorn State University. She is a wonderful outside from the Houston area. This young lady is a smaller outside but don’t tell her that because she doesn’t play small at all. She plays with a lot of heart and determination on the left pin. Smaller players have to have great timing when they attack and Miss Sonnier has perfected it. She has a great ability to jump and have perfect hand contact on the ball to get the proper rotation to help her get off a great attack. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dreams of playing sports at the next level. We will be cheering her on from over here in Texas and we wish her well.
