Continue ReadingThe Class of 2023 is loaded with talent in Wisconsin. I know we can justify that with every class, but the Class of 2023 has talent across the state, college level talent who can now talk to college coaches of any level. For the Class of 2023, the national tournament will not define your recruiting experience. It will be one part of the process. College coaches, take note! These names are ones we’ve been watching all season and are excited to see what they will do on the courts of AAU Nationals.
Always fun watching Sydney Selburg Sydney Selburg 5'8" | S Westosha Central | 2023 State WI if @westoshavball and @WiJrs run the show. This is a really athletic 16-1 squad! pic.twitter.com/ltYEY3Elo0

Sydney Selburg Sydney Selburg 5'8" | S Westosha Central | 2023 State WI – Wisconsin Juniors 16-1
Setter
16 Premier
Selburg is silky smooth from the setter position where she can hit all the tempos, diversifying the offense. She is also a huge playmaker herself with a dirty serve and a left handed swing where the defense has to recognize her as a threat every time she jumps in the front row. Juniors has been playing Open all year long and is battle tested and ready.
Abigail Alan – Wisconsin Juniors 16-1
Outside Hitter
16 Premier
Alan is long, athletic, and a major upside to her game where her best volleyball is ahead of her. She is a big time point scorer and seeing her in February at the Badger Region Power League to the JVA World Challenge in Louisville a couple weeks ago, she has made some big gains with her game. Her evolution on the pin will be fun to watch with plenty of opportunities for her to score points this weekend.
Ryleigh Zeller Ryleigh Zeller 5'5" | DS/L Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI – Motion MVP 16 Blue
Libero
16 Premier
Zeller is so solid at the libero position where she can serve receive, take pace off the ball, and even anticipate the second contact keeping the ball in play for her team to still score points. She anticipates well and can also pick up plenty of tips off the block where she once again is prolonging the play for a really gritty squad.
Terrific energy and feel for the game by this squad. They were turning heads at #PDGauntlet. @FCElite16u@hauntguy pic.twitter.com/Pdc3OpBcGY

Jordan LaScala Jordan LaScala 6'0" | OH Middleton | 2023 State WI – Capital 16 Adidas
Outside Hitter
16 Premier
LaScala is so consistent. She is going to keep the ball in the court, play smart, score points, and go about her business no matter what is at stake. This CVA squad is solid with little weakness and LaScala is one who definitely adds value with her swing on the outside and take advantage of what the defense gives her. She has a solid connection with her high school setter at Middleton on this squad in Evin Jordee.
@MotionVball 16 Blue looking so strong. Grace Grocholski Grace Grocholski 5'10" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI one of the top 2023 pins in Wisconsin off to a hot start! pic.twitter.com/SejesrIriV

Grace Grocholski Grace Grocholski 5'10" | OH Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI – Motion MVP 16 Blue
Outside Hitter
16 Premier
Grocholski stole the show at the JVA World Challenge when MVP was playing with a depleted squad after a few injuries on day two during the gold pools. They defeated a powerhouse in Illini Elite with gritty defense and big swings by Grocholski. Grocholski will have calls from top volleyball and basketball programs this summer as she is a top five prospect in both sports in Wisconsin in the Class of 2023.
Isabella Grace Isabella Grace 5'10" | OH Bay Port | 2023 State WI (Izzy) – Impact 16 National
Outside Hitter
16 Club
The improvement on Grace in the past year is definitely something to take note of. She is so explosive from the pin, she can sky and spot her shot to score points. A six rotation pin, her stock is rising and will be one to star in University Athlete. This Impact team out of Appleton has a lot of solid pieces in place to make a run.
Maya Wegand Maya Wegand 5'7" | OH Little Chute | 2023 State WI – MKE Sting 16 White
Outside Hitter
16 Club
Fun watching Maya Wegand Maya Wegand 5'7" | OH Little Chute | 2023 State WI on the pin for @stingvb1988 16 White. So athletic and just an electric ⚡️ style to her game. This team is firing on all cylinders today after a big weekend at Bluegrass.
— Chris Fitzgerald (@PrepDigChris) March 12, 2021
Wegand attacks with authority. She is aggressive and will go up swinging with no fear. A six rotation outside who can provide a swing from the right side and back row. This is a dangerous Sting 16 White team where they are going to be a major threat to win some hardware late in the tournament. This team beat Capital 16 Adidas at the Prep Dig Gauntlet and has come up with some big wins this season.
Cheyenne Johnson Cheyenne Johnson 5'6" | DS/L Lakeside Lutheran | 2023 State WI – MKE 16 White
DS/Libero
16 Club
With Johnson and libero Kyleigh Coghlan Kyleigh Coghlan 5'6" | DS/L Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI in the backrow, the first contact for Sting 16 White is always solid. Johnson just has this cool and calm demeanor which translates to her platform where she is very relaxed with how she moves and receives the ball. Her consistency is definitely a strength and will be key as they get to some tight matches late in the tournament.
Hailey Litzau – Milwaukee Juniors 16 Elite
Setter
16 Club
Milwaukee Juniors 16 Elite is sparked by the play of Litzau who is the setter who runs the show. This team is scrappy and is always a threat to go against. Litzau was a top performer at the Prep Dig Battle In The Valley back in May and will be looking to have another standout performance in Orlando.
Ella Rosner – FVP 16 Blue
Libero
16 Aspire
Rosner is another top performer who was on our radar from the Prep Dig Battle In The Valley. FVP 16 Blue is athletic and has an aggressive style of play where Rosner is a key player in the backrow as a libero providing a steady and consistent first touch. Teams who are able to serve receive at a high level will have a greater chance of winning at this level. Rosner will look to lead her team in serve receive and hopefully some big matches come day three and four.
Madelyn Agen Madelyn Agen 5'9" | S Kaukauna | 2023 WI – Impact 16 Elite
Setter
16 Aspire
Impact 16 Elite has had some big wins throughout the season and they will be representing the Fox Valley along with FVP in the 16 Aspire Division. Agen can take control of her court and has a presence. She is one who can set a block in the front row, take it herself on the second contact, or get it to an open attacker.
