Rachel Dezarn- From Logan County High School, Rachel Dezarn helped lead her team to a district championship and a region semi-finalist finish. Dezarn hit on the left side for the Lady Cougars, but one of her greatest strengths is the ability to hit from every position. This girl is always willing to learn from any coach and carries a competitive yet positive attitude on the court. Dezarn will make a huge impact for Logan County as just a junior.
Mackenzie Austin Mackenzie Austin DS/L Bowling Green | 2023 KY – You’ve probably seen this name before on our website because this stud makes waves on the court for Bowling Green High School. A libero can truly be the glue for the team, and Mackenzie Austin Mackenzie Austin DS/L Bowling Green | 2023 KY impacts the squad from every angle in the back row. Her serve receive is smooth, but her ability to push a for ball effortlessly is even sweeter to see. Austin follows in her sisters footsteps from back the day, Hailey-Beth Austin, so maybe it’s just in their blood to pass a ball. Mackenzie was named all district last year and helped her team to a second place finish in the region finals. Austin will be a fun one to watch for Bowling Green as just a junior.
Kendall Simmons- This name will be one to hear for a couple years as Kendall Simmons is expected to become the new starting setter for South Warren High School. Previous four year starter, Sydney Clayton Sydney Clayton S South Warren | 2021 State KY , graduated from the squad, so Simmons will take over the captain position for the Spartans. Simmons can run a fast offense, but she also helps the team from the back row with her defense and stud floater serving skills. Make sure to keep an eye out for this 2023 recruit!
Kara Gipson- Another great player from South Warren High School, Kara Gipson has been a stellar middle blocker for the team. She started this past year as a sophomore and is expected to do even greater things for the team in 2021. Gipson was the star hitter for her BRAVO 16 Black club team where the team forced her the ball off the net even as a middle hitter. Yes, the 6 foot height helps, but Gipson constantly works hard to get better everyday. Her determination and integrity sets her apart from other tall hitters. Watch out for this girl in the sand this summer but also for South Warren High School this fall!
Cayden Vandiver Cayden Vandiver DS/L Warren East | 2023 State KY – A defensive specialist from Warren East High School, Cayden Vandiver Cayden Vandiver DS/L Warren East | 2023 State KY is known for her athleticism and high-bubbly energy. Vandiver is one of those kids that if you asked her to run through a wall to get the ball up, then she’d do it. Her defense and ability to move anywhere on the court makes her a unique player in the back row. As the libero last year, Vandiver helped her team to an 11-10 winning season which is great improvement for the Lady Raiders. This junior will only help her team even more this fall!
Paige Logsdon- Lastly, another junior from South Warren High School that should make a standout list is Paige Logsdon. She started last year as an outside hitter for the Lady Spartans and played in all 43 sets. Logsdon had 127 kills and averaged 2.95 kills a game. Paige just knows the game inside and out which helps her make smart decisions at the net and from the service line. For her BRAVO 16 Black club team this year, she played six rotations as an outside hitter, so it will be interesting to see what impact she makes as a junior for the Spartans squad!
