Destiny Johnson- Marist High School
Johnson is a new face and a new name that I have come across and I am impressed with her talents thus far. Johnson stands at 5’8″ and is a very strong athlete. Johnson is a very strong willed individual, no matter the problem she finds a way to fix it. Johnson is quick on the court and her ability to swing is impressive. Johnson is a well developed athlete and should be one athlete that gets the attention she deserves. She is competitive, resilient and has all the qualities to be an elite athlete.
Danielle Stevens- Kenwood Academy
Stevens is another athlete that is fun to watch. Stevens stands at 5’7″ and she is a very resilient athlete on and off the court. During my time watching Stevens, I watched her sustain an injury, but what stood out to me that she was able to push through it and continue to put on a show at her showcase. Stevens is a powerful individual when it comes to her swings and her ability to line up with the ball.
Juliana Tatad- Westinghouse High School
Tatad is a very strong, athletic and defensive athlete and her ability to get low to the ground caught my eye and keep my attention. Tatad is one of those athletes that catches your eye, and once they do so, it is hard for you to get them off of that individual. Tatad is quick on her feet and makes it a high priority to defend the ball no matter the situation or where the ball is.
Dyan Oliver- Homewood Flossmoor High School
If resilient was a human being, Oliver would be that person. Oliver caught my eye when she took a hard fall and injured herself during a 6 on 6 and she was unable to continue during that set. Oliver came and conquered as she came back strong and more powerful than ever. She got up, and was unstoppable at the net and with her swings. If the ball was coming her way, she reflected it or punched it back over the net getting the point for her team. She was on fire. Thats what I like to see in athletes. She had consistency in her plays and continued that energy on the court.
Tamera Boyce- White Station High School (TN)
Boyce is a strong athlete and not an athlete that has been introduced yet by name. I had the opportunity of watching Boyce perform in her skills and drills and 6 on 6, whilst at a combine in Chicago, which is far from home. Boyce is a target athlete who is very consistent and efficient in the skill set that she brings on the court. She’s strong, humble and is very powerful with her swings and approaches on the net. I had a blast watching Boyce and look forward to seeing her more.
