COACHES:
Position | Name |
---|---|
Head Coach | Kim Barents |
Assistant Coach | Kendall King |
Assistant Coach | Jenny Zadalis |
GRADUATED:
Anna Halverson (MH)
Halverson played in all 77 sets for the Cardinals in 2020 and had 6 assists, 1.1 KPS(81), 33 total blocks, 40 digs, and 17 service aces with an 86.0% serve efficiency. The Cardinals will surely miss the kills, blocks, and aces provided by Halverson in the approaching fall season.
Stella Umphreys (S/L)
Umphreys played in 72 of 77 sets for the Cardinals last season and had 44 assists, 11 kills, a team-high 4.7 DPS(340), and 25 service aces with a 91.4% serve efficiency. Stella can play anywhere on the court and I am sure she will be missed by her coaches and teammates this coming season.
Treynor only loses two seniors this past year and has a score of really talented incoming seniors. Let’s check them out and see what this season might have in store for the Cardinals.
RETURNING PLAYERS:
Madeline Lewis (2022, OH)
Lewis played in all 77 sets for the Cardinals in 2020 and contributed 20 assists, 2.9 KPS(223), 21 total blocks, 2.3 DPS(178), and 29 service aces with an 87.7% serve efficiency. I have watched Maddie play since she was in fourth or fifth grade and the growth, both physically and in skill, is amazing. She is a player that is ripe for the next level.
Keelea Navara (2022, DS)
Navara played in 75 of 77 sets for the Cardinals in 2020 and had 16 assists, 2 kills, 1.9 DPS(139), and a team-high 40 service aces with an 89.8% serve efficiency.
Brooklyn Sedlak (2022, RS)
Sedlak played in 75 of 77 sets played by the Cardinals in 2020 and contributed 5 assists, 65 kills, 29 total blocks, and 16 digs.
Natalie Simpson (2022, MH)
Simpson played in all 77 sets for the Cardinals last season and had 8 assists, 1.3 KPS(97), a team-high 42 total blocks, 24 digs, and 4 service aces with a 98.2% serve efficiency.
Emma Flathers Emma Flathers 5'8" | OH Treynor | 2022 State IA (2022, S)
Flathers played in 62 sets for the Cardinals last fall and had 7.7 APS(479), 41 kills, 20 total blocks, 2.3 DPS(144), and 12 service aces with a 98.9% serve efficiency.
Kailey Rochholz (2022, OH)
Rochholz played in 74 of 77 sets for the Cardinals last year and had 7 assists, 2.5 KPS(183), 16 total blocks, and 39 digs.
Brooklyn Currin (2023, DS)
Currin played in 66 sets for the Cardinals in 2020 and contributed 18 assists, 1.7 DPS(109), and 31 service aces with a 92.4% serve efficiency.
Ella Tiarks (2024, MH)
Tiarks is a 6’4″ MH for the Cardinals and though she only played in 6 sets last year she had 3 kills, 2 digs, and 6 total blocks. She will be an interesting one to watch this season to see how she has developed over the winter and club seasons.
Also returning for the Cardinals this fall for the 2021 season will be Emma Stock (2022, DS), Keely Smith (2022, RS), Kiralyn Horton (2023, MH), Delaney Simpson (2023, DS), and Hailey Swanson (2024, S). I also met some younger players at Summer League and convinced them to let me take headshots of them in case they are wonderful this coming year and we just haven’t seen them yet. Their photos are below.
